===Summary===

Carson Hale (operating under the name "Wesson Smith") is an aspiring shadowrunner specializing in the expert use of his twin revolvers in a fight, and southern charm to access people and places with a wink and tip of the hat.

===Goals===

Wesson seeks to step out from the shadow of his predecessors, with ambitions to become a legend in his own right and not being limited to the humble legacy of his family name.

==Background==

Born in the CAS half of the split city of Austin, TX to a couple of veteran Lone Star officers, Carson Hale was practically groomed to carry in both their footsteps and that of the many serving before him. As he grew up though, the Hales would find to their slight dismay that their son had other dreams, though not too far off from their own. While they had raised a good young man who inherited their sense of justice - a family quality that ensured the family never rose very far on the corporate ladder - as well as their taste in firearms, Carson's respect for his legacy failed to stop him from an intense desire to strike out on his own. With a smile and nod, the latest in the Hale line strode out into the wild world outside of Texas, determined to make a name for himself beyond that of his family's.

While Carson may wish to strike out on his own, he makes sure to maintain his ties to the company both out of sentimentality and the usefulness of a shadowrunner having good connections with law enforcement. Even his family's supposed rivals in Knight-Errant are no source of contempt for him, believing that no matter the price or label attached, justice served is money well spent. That being said, Law as a concept is of little import by itself to Carson, appropriately for someone in his desired profession. If anything, his knowledge of how the strict morality of the Hale family limited their rise in Lone Star's ranks has only proven to him that the corporate world values righteousness about the same as a bent shell casing, with the responsibility of making things right often resting in the hands - and the gun barrel - of a single person.

== Narrative Significant Qualities ==

===Positive===

'''Ambidextrous:''' Two guns being better than one is an adage Carson lives by, though not always openly. As a private bit of cleverness, Hale prefers to stick with his right hand most of the time, whether shooting, writing, or anything else, and keeps quiet about his double dexterity. Only at an opportune moment - or when forced - will he reveal it, with Carson taking no small amount of joy in surprising a foe by quickdrawing a second pistol from his concealed holster or otherwise proving to have two good hands.

'''Perfect Time, Sharpshooter, and Aim For Perfection:''' While fanning the hammer is all well and good for some, Carson prefers to place a precise shot instead of sending a hail of bullets downrange. Besides an appreciation for accuracy, it's indicative of his overall approach to any issue before him. Taking his time, identifying an optimal solution, and executing it swiftly and without further hesitation in a single action is worth more to Hale than any amount of knee-jerk reactions and sloppy methodology.

===Negative===

'''Code of Honor: Innocent Bystanders:''' Carson is no fool, and understands that shadowrunning requires a degree of ruthlessness; in all honesty, he prefers a bullet through the eye over tender understanding. But his precision extends to his sense of morality as well, with fools and scum being entirely separate from some hapless wage slave caught in the crossfire. Hale will never agree to harm those uninvolved in the run, and makes fierce, high-caliber objections to teammates or clients he witnesses doing so, or demanding he does.

'''Family Curse:''' While their work in Lone Star and pre-Awakening police forces paid well and usually appealed to their morals, the Hale family still carried some heavy burdens from it. Besides the lack of promotions, refusing to indulge in some of the company's infamous brutality against those of vague criminality or take bribes meant no small amount of hardship, and many of Carson's line turned to drugs or drink to cope with it. The latest scion of the Hales has so far kept himself away from addictions, but the demons lying in wait within bottles or needles whisper all the louder to him when given the chance to speak.

'''Hard Luck:''' In the Sixth World, it hardly ever pays to be a "good guy". If anything, it seems to incur some extra costs, down to breaking appliances, unexplained mold outbreaks in the wall, and anything else in the array of mishaps in the home. It's a constant drain on Carson's wallet, with the gunslinger willing to come rather close to the edge of his principals if the money's good enough, especially when the utlities bill is due...

Fake R4 SIN: Wesson Smith, Security Consultant (Vehicle License, Weapon License).

==Appearance==

Black-haired like his father with his mother's pale blue eyes, Carson's tall but lean physique betrays his meager physical qualities compared to the likes of hulking orcs, relying on his synth-flesh covered cyberarms to handle the recoil of his weapons. The gunslinger often adopts a slouching posture to keep himself loose and possibly deceive onlookers regarding his sharp reflexes, and when not wearing his ballistic mask sports an easygoing smile, a genuine expression of his friendly nature when he doesn't have a pistol in hand.

=== Clothing ===

Besides his Texan accent, Carson's attire is what marks him as an outsider to Seattle. While the collared shirt, coat and black wrangler pants aren't too odd, and the plated gloves excusable as a fashion accessory, Hale crosses the line into an "out-of-towner" (as they'd say back home) with a buttoned gunfighter's vest and square-top George cattleman hat, complete with a dull-gold emblem. When combat is inevitable or hiding his visage, Carson wears a custom ballistic mask molded into the shape of a golden half-skull with a transparent visor extending to his eyes.

===Matrix Persona===

In the Matrix, Carson Hale's appearance is that of a much older man in similar clothing to his meatspace wardrobe. Those with an antique taste in cinema may find he bears a striking resemblance to pre-Awakening movie star Clive Westwood, whose films the gunslinger greatly enjoys.

==Character Plot Hooks==

While the quiet fame of the Hale family hardly extends far from Texas, military and law enforcement personnel native to the state - or those with a similarly principled nature - may recognize Carson's true name if they catch wind of it. In dire circumstances, he may even reveal his identity if he judges it will help him and his team out of a sticky situation with such people, and veterans in the company may find his familiarity with the ins and outs of Lone Star odd if they can suss out his angle.
Fake R4 SIN: Wesson Smith, Security Consultant (Vehicle License, Weapon License).

==Appearance==

=== Clothing ===

===Matrix Persona===

==Character Plot Hooks==

===Summary===

Carson Hale (operating under the name "Wesson Smith") is an aspiring shadowrunner specializing in the expert use of his twin revolvers in a fight, and southern charm to access people and places with a wink and tip of the hat.

===Goals===

Wesson seeks to step out from the shadow of his predecessors, with ambitions to become a legend in his own right and not being limited to the humble legacy of his family name.

==Background==

== Narrative Significant Qualities ==

===Positive===

===Negative===

===Summary===

Carson Hale (operating under the name "Wesson Smith") is an aspiring shadowrunner specializing in the expert use of his twin revolvers in a fight, and southern charm to access people and places with a wink and tip of the hat.

===Goals===

Wesson seeks to step out from the shadow of his predecessors, with ambitions to become a legend in his own right and not being limited to the humble legacy of his family name.

==Background==

== Narrative Significant Qualities ==

===Positive===

===Negative===

==Appearance==

=== Clothing ===

===Matrix Persona===

==Character Plot Hooks==

When combat is inevitable or hiding his visage, Carson wears a custom ballistic mask molded into the shape of a golden half-skull with a transparent visor extending to his eyes.

===Matrix Persona===

==Character Plot Hooks==

=Character Information=

===Summary===

Carson Hale (operating under the name "Wesson Smith") is an aspiring shadowrunner specializing in the expert use of his twin revolvers in a fight, and southern charm to access people and places with a wink and tip of the hat.

===Goals===

Wesson seeks to step out from the shadow of his predecessors, with ambitions to become a legend in his own right and not being limited to the humble legacy of his family name.

==Background==

== Narrative Significant Qualities ==

===Positive===

===Negative===

==Appearance==
