There was a time when then man who calls himself Juan Diaz in public and Copperhead on the streets worked as an assassin for Aztechnology. The corporation was all he knew for his entire life. What his memory doesn't hold is that he was literally grown in a vat to be almost irresistible. Part of a program that magically imbued so called physically perfect specimens with magic from the totem of the seducer. The process worked after a fashion. The process also gave Copperhead naturally occurring venom pouches, which is perhaps a bit more dramatic.

==Summary==

A construction manager is being scammed, extorted, and threatened by a shady supply company wanting him to pay more than agreed for materials, and sends runners to secure the truckload of construction supplies he's already paid for. The company is a Finnigan front, and infiltration of the warehouse devolves into a shootout.

==Background==

Douglas Church, project manager in charge of restoring a pre-Crash apartment building, was desperate to secure materials after his usual suppliers backed out due to the ongoing gang wars. He found a shady company willing to deliver, but when the truck arrived they refused to unload unless he paid a second time. Church found that the invoices and contracts for the delivery were wiped from his employer's host, but refused and threatened to take legal action, causing the truck to speed off.

Afterwards, unmarked vans began stalking his construction site and he received threats of magical violence and curses against the work site if he sued or called the cops, but that they'd still be willing to deliver if he paid, this time demanding double the initial payment. This was well outside Mr. Church's budget for the project, so he figured shadowrunners might be a cheaper solution.

Unbeknownst to Church, this was a Merlyn-led fraud scheme by the Finnigan Family.

==The Meet==

The runners are directed to Bob's Beer Factory in Redmond, where their Johnson is drinking away a stressful day of being extorted and threatened. He explains the above to the runners, and offers to pay them in exchange for stealing the truck full of materials that he needs. Church isn't too worried about the team getting violent, but does ask that they let him know who these conmen are so he can request that his bosses increase security appropriately after the job is done.

As negotiations come to a close, Knack noticed a watcher is spying on their Johnson in the astral, and they all make a performance of pretending the deal went poorly and storm away, hoping to trick the astral construct.

==The Plan==

Church didn't know much besides the name of the company he purchased supplies from (ABC Supply Company Incorporated) and that they possessed some magical skill if the threats were to be believed. Epsilon does some Matrix research and determines that the address Church had wasn't actually for a warehouse, it was for an office rental. The company's incorporation records were tied to a lawyer named Seamus O'Sullivan, and the same man owned a ''real'' warehouse in Hollywood, Redmond. The team heads that way, and start scoping things out.

The team notices another watcher in the warehouse's yard, a ward around the place, a pair of armed guards outside lacking any obvious corporate affiliations, and a set of garage doors big enough to park a truck through. Knack shrouds most of the crew in invisibility and concealment (except Plug, magic is scary).

The plan is for Plug to sneak in, locate the goods, disable what security he can, and get the truck ready to go for the team...

==The Run==

Plug narrowly avoids setting off the pressure mesh around the warehouse's fence, climbs in via a broken window, and spots a pair of trucks, one of which must be their target. He makes a detour to the warehouse's office, chokes out the Merlyn mage inside, disables what security devices he can from the monitoring station in the office, and finds some documents that clue the team in to the fact that this whole operation is likely a mafia front.

The rest of the team head up through the same window, except Mordred, who's unable to make it up. He instead makes his way to the front door, and Plug tries crossing the warehouse to pick it open for him. Unfortunately, a sharp eyed interior guard spots him sneaking about, pulls a gun on Plug, and demands he surrender or be shot. Plug refuses, and a gunfight through the warehouse begins.

Plug runs towards the front of the warehouse while returning fire with gel rounds, Mordred brute forces the lock and starts blasting with his flechette-loaded carbine, Epsilon rips a made man in half with a shotgun, and Knack has an air spirit disable a guard with noxious gas. The guards switch to lethal when it's clear some of the runners are shooting to kill, but after several are taken out the remaining Finnigans flee before the invisible runners out for blood can put them down.

Mordred finds a suspicious gas canister installed beneath one of the trucks (anti-theft neurostun), the team disables it, and they load into the truck to haul ass before reinforcements can arrive.

==Aftermath==

The runners meet their Johnson just outside Touristville, and he has some of his employees load the goods into a different truck. During the handoff, after payment, the team tells him that they believe the Finnigans were responsible for this whole situation, and Church goes white at the realization that he just paid people to rob the mafia. To make matters worse, the team further reveals that Mordred and Epsilon both killed a member of the family. Church is horrified at what he thinks will happen to him because of this, he hurries away from the scene to try to find a way out of Seattle immediately.

Unfortunately, he never makes it out of Seattle. Church is found, captured, tortured, and questioned within the next hour or two. He folds easily, and spills everything he knows to the Finnigans, including exactly which runners were responsible for the deaths. The angry, embarrassed Merlyn force feeds him Lot's Curse, shoots him through the heart right before he fully petrifies, and dumps the body in Church's own construction site.

The lead investigator assigned to the case is on the Finnigans' payroll, and Douglas Church's strange, dramatic murder goes unsolved for the foreseeable future.

==Background==
There was a time when then man who calls himself Juan Diaz in public and Copperhead on the streets worked as an assassin for Aztechnology. The corporation was all he knew for his entire life. What his memory doesn't hold is that he was literally grown in a vat to be almost irresistible. Part of a program that magically imbued so called physically perfect specimens with magic from the totem of the seducer. The process worked after a fashion. The process also gave Copperhead naturally occurring venom pouches, which is perhaps a bit more dramatic.

A Human Street Samurai Fresh off Life Support. Skilled in automatics and unarmed combat but almost crippled by severe burns on his back and neck.

Attain the nuyen to pay for expensive rehabilitative surgery for his nervous system, cyberarms, and essence restoration.
Long term he wants to put paid to his past no matter how unattainable the target.

==Background==
Not much of Mordred's past is easily attainable or verifiable. When particularly drunk he once claimed that he was a member of an elite counterintelligence squad called the Black Knights that were put paid during the political instability that followed Cross Applied Technologies getting the vote onto the corporate court and their unceremonious fall from grace not long after. If it is true any records of Mordred's former life are buried somewhere in a corporate data center and haven't seen light for a long time. Still, Something violent and life altering happened to the guy.

It seems like he was built strong enough to survive. That still holds true, he's one tough motherfragger and no mistake.

'''Natural Leader''': Mordred is pretty sharp, and pretty down to earth. Without reaching the staggering heights of genius or the pitfalls of the opposite. Despite his injuries he is well spoken and intuitive and you can expect him to act rationally in most situations, further he's got a lot of insight into the ways of corporate security, its that experience he banks upon when his body doesn't hit up to snuff.

==Appearance==
A slight man with a presence bigger than his form. Perhaps his footsteps are louder, no wait, they Are louder. There is a solidity to this man that is unnatural.

He wears a close cropped white beard and a severe crewcut. He has high quality cybereyes of fine implementation in electric blue. His neck and the back of his head are a mass of scar tissue that disappears below the collar of the thick sleeveless denim jacket that he wears over a simple brown t-shirt tucked into ballistic fatigues and tightly laced steel toed boots. His arms stand out; they are gunmetal black cyberarms with blue glowing undercircuitry. Fine pieces at first glance, but on closer inspection you are pretty sure if he didn't have them crossed over his chest they may actually be falling limp at his sides. Something is clearly wrong here. You aren't sure whether you'd rather send this guy to Urgent Care, or a Museum.

==Background==
R00k's past is definitely not public information. Sort of. David Manystars callsign Galahad is very much noted by Ares Macrotechnology. A decking prodigy, David was, in essence, a child soldier in the employ of Ares macrotechnology as part of the Black Knight project. It didn't go well. He is the only member of the former team that is known by the corporation to be alive (at least officially) and as such has a bounty on his head. Now running under the name R00k and a fake sin he's managed to stay one step ahead of internal affairs, but its only a matter of time unless he puts an intense amount of nuyen and time into erasing that record.

This man has the pale and sallow look common to those who spend far too much time indoors or underneath the perpetual smog common to the sixth world.

He wears a faded motorcycle jacket over faded jeans with faded high top running shoes and a faded almost archaic t shirt for a band called the Howling Belles. His left arm is a faded gunmetal black of a full replacement cyberarm.

In fact, faded is just about the best description for this figure, the only exception being the elaborately detailed electric blue cybereyes that cut through the night aire like luminous stillettos

==Summary==
Quick emergency call is answered a little too late, but a payday's found regardless.

==The Meet==
Fixer calls Mordred for a simple response to a cold call for backup and asks him to enact justice on whatever he finds on the off-duty KE officer. The guy is working off the clock for extra bounties after being put on paid leave due to a small scandal in the police force.

==The Plan==
Mordred drives close to the call site, parks in an alleyway and approaches discreetly.

==The Run==
Finding the gunfight over, Mordred investigates the firing trajectories and bloodstains, identifying two trails to follow, one leading underground and the other northeast more discreetly. He follows the underground one first, finding that feral ghouls had dragged a Halloweener corpse down to feast on. While he attempts to back away quietly, his shaky hands make the barrel of his rifle clink against the wall, alerting one of the ghouls. Threatening the creature at gun point is enough to make it back away and go back to eating its meal.

After tracking the covered footprints on the surface, he finds a ganger with an AK-97 bleeding out in a junkyard. The man refuses to come to custody, feebly attempting to raise his corpse so Mordred has little chance but to snap his neck. Taking the broken commlink and patch, he heads out of the booby trapped junkyard and calls his fixer with the details.

==Aftermath==
The conclusion made is the gangers had a shootout, the KE officer pulled up to intervene and was caught in the crossfire -- selling the Monolith ganger's patch gives Mordred a fair bonus!
