Ducky Lao, former captain of 'Yangtze Duckling', a ship unceremoniously scuttled near the Seattle Bay on its maiden journey, is not the luckiest woman in the world. Born in the Shandong Province of the Coastal Confederation of Chinese Successor states, she'd grown up around the shipping industry, legal and illegal. First joining a 'legitimate salvage' crew three decades ago, she'd been in the sidelines of many a conflict such as the HUK rebellion, the conquest and reconquest of California, and the Ring of Fire disasters. Blessed with a keen sense of self-preservation, she'd slowly worked her way up the ranks, proving a keen boarder, negotiator, and saboteur alike. Finally managing to scrounge the nuyen to purchase 'The Yangtze Duckling', a small "cargo" vessel, acquire a crew of keen minded volunteers, it was finally the Year of the Ducky, until a misstep by the navigator, an unexpected matrix attack and a trio of unidentified ships off the coast of Seattle opening fire led her to unceremoniously call for the ship's scuttling. Trapped with no nuyen to her name, no ship, and the green as hell crew to look after, she'd ran into Seattle, hoping to make it in the Emerald City. And to avoid her mother telling her I told you so.

Legendary Rep (Pacific Pirates) - one massive mistake aside, Ducky is respected by the Pacific Pirates for being a daring combatant, talented leader, and an exceptional thief.

Bad Rep - it doesn't take long for the shame of scuttling on a maiden voyage to spill around, and the bad luck that comes with that.

Dependent (Demanding) - a bunch of barely speaking English pirates from all around the Pacific and having the moral responsibility for them doesn't a professional shadowrunner make.

Favoured (Spirits of Water) - The tides are a finicky thing, and raising the ire of those spirits is exceptionally bad luck. ==Background==
Ducky Lao, former captain of 'Yangtze Duckling', a ship unceremoniously scuttled near the Seattle Bay on its maiden journey, is not the luckiest woman in the world. Born in the Shandong Province of the Coastal Confederation of Chinese Successor states, she'd grown up around the shipping industry, legal and illegal. First joining a 'legitimate salvage' crew three decades ago, she'd been in the sidelines of many a conflict such as the HUK rebellion, the conquest and reconquest of California, and the Ring of Fire disasters. Blessed with a keen sense of self-preservation, she'd slowly worked her way up the ranks, proving a keen boarder, negotiator, and saboteur alike. Finally managing to scrounge the nuyen to purchase 'The Yangtze Duckling', a small "cargo" vessel, acquire a crew of keen minded volunteers, it was finally the Year of the Ducky, until a misstep by the navigator, an unexpected matrix attack and a trio of unidentified ships off the coast of Seattle opening fire led her to unceremoniously call for the ship's scuttling. Trapped with no nuyen to her name, no ship, and the green as hell crew to look after, she'd ran into Seattle, hoping to make it in the Emerald City. And to avoid her mother telling her I told you so.

Legendary Rep (Pacific Pirates) - one massive mistake aside, Ducky is respected by the Pacific Pirates for being a daring combatant, talented leader, and an exceptional thief.
