The Yellow Lotus is a Triad based in the Seattle sprawl in the UCAS and they are now Seattle's most powerful Triad. One of their main sources of revenue is the smuggling of illegal immigrants who are forced to work in factories and sweatshops in the Barrens which manufacture knock-offs or in the sex trade until they pay off their debt, and some are even sold to organleggers. The primary business of the Yellow Lotus is the smuggling and dealing of BTL chips from Hong Kong, they dominate the market in the sprawl. In downtown Vashon, the Yellow Lotus operates various entertainment centers where one can enjoy chips, joytoys, and drugs. It is one of the Triads providing the soldiers of Ft. Lewis with prostitutes.

Recently it has expanded to the Boston sprawl where it is battling the Black Orchid Triad. The Yellow Lotus also recently became a significant player in Thailand, moving drugs from the Golden Triangle to Bangkok and from there to the world. When the Triads recently lost their stranglehold on the Golden Triangle drug trade due to the rise of the Yakuza in Thailand, the Yellow Lotus were one of the syndicates negatively impacted and are attempting to force the Yakuza out of the drug trade. They also have a branch in the city of Beijing.

The Yellow Lotus used to be based in the Hong Kong Free Enterprise Zone. It was for a time the Red Dragon Association's main rival, before it was defeated and nearly annihilated in a war with the Red Dragon Triad in 2062-2063 AD. The remnants of the Yellow Lotus are now allied to the Ten Thousand Lions in Hong Kong, which absorbed the survivors of the destroyed Yellow Lotus and it's allies in Hong Kong.

Robert "Eros" Williamson was a skinny, sometimes bullied child of corporate drones in the Fort Lewis District of Seattle. However things began to change when he was Awakened and sent to a school for the Magically Gifted. It was there he met both those affiliated with the Yellow Lotus Triad, and someone who had smuggled in a book on black magic traditions. He had found his calling. He finally knew his path to respect and power. Although he was supposed to join the corporation that paid for his school, he joined the Triad instead and their deckers were able to remove his file. In return he started running messages between the drug and prostitution cells around Fort Lewis, and eventually used his budding magic skills to do "favors" for them. He also learned to conduct investigations (mostly tracking down moles and other problems) and occasionally took odd PI jobs on the side. Unfortunately his "normal" work ended up landing him in jail for a short time. Since then he has worked to improve his reputation, social standing, and bank account. it was through one of his contacts in the Triad, Da-Xia Wu that he met Madame Butterfly and successfully completed a discreet job for her, finally earning enough money to move to Bellevue. She was impressed enough to become his fixer and rest is history.

==Background==
William Smith's family was originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. That is, until Aztlan came and annexed the area in 2035. Worried about the change in government, as well as their status as potential non-citizen former CAS residents, Williams grandparents moved their family to Austin. However, the war reached there too and combined with the higher cost of living and sudden dearth of jobs, the family moved again to Lawton, Oklahoma. There William was born and raised to hate Aztlan. He discovered as he grew up that he was very good at technology, especially when it came to finding hidden gems in the Matrix. He joined the Army and trained at the nearby Fort Sill as a decker, later assigned to an intelligence unit tasked with monitoring the Aztlan military and government. Although he had dreams of joining the CAS Army's Special Operations Matrix unit, it was not to be. During a mission his squad was caught and came under heavy fire on the Aztechnology grid and he was badly injured by black IC. His injuries resulted in his being discharged. Disappointed and adrift, and with decent job offers hard to come by since he was competing against veterans with more experience, William met a small time "Mr Johnson" that introduced him into the world of shadowrunning. A run took him into Seattle and he hasn't left. He has taken on the moniker "WareWolf" (as in software, hardware, or matrixware) which he saw in a comic and thought sounded cool.
