Token is as Token does - a sunny student from University of Washington who managed to luck her way into the shadows. Token is a walking example of why being smart and knowing things are different. She's a scholar with few street smarts, but a bright personality. Hailing from the north of Scotland, she's ventured to Seattle to do research in the shadows and bring a little bit of a brighter tomorrow wherever she can.

And if she can't, she's got a gun and probably knows how to use it.

Token wants to research Background counts, how they come about, and how everyday people deal with them. She also wants to research magic in the shadows. And magic in general. And to help people. And to record everything she can so she can study it later. And to make money, because this 'being a student' thing is expensive.

And to have a little fun!

==Background==

Born Tanya Aberdeen, this mage found her calling for magic at an early age. As far back as she can remember, Brokkr has been showing her the secrets of the world. The runes and leylines, the underpinning of magic itself - teaching her arcane knowledge, how to peer into the world beyond. Into the fray she went, running through school like a fire through brush, graduating near the top of her class back in Scotland. But it wasn't enough, and she didn't want to tie herself to any of the corps just off the bat.

So she left home and traveled, picking up odd jobs here and there in small capacities. Eventually she wound up at the University of Washington, assisting in a research position. She enrolled, and has been studying ever since.

Lately, though, her studies have taken a darker turn. Now, she's graduated and begun working on her thesis... Which requires direct fieldwork. She wants to help others, to unravel the secrets of magic and how to put it to use for metahumanity, to discover how to better calm the corrupted background counts of a living city.

Token fits in well with her peers - a human female, young academic student, given to LED clothing and her white-dyed hair lit by electric blue accents. Her face is spotted with freckles above the easy smile, dark blue eyes warmly regarding the world as a new mystery to solve. She stuck to punkish clothing, a touch, favoring beanies and hoodies to more uptight clothes, and often accompanied by a simple faux-leather messenger bag. She was average in build, hardly considered strong or tall, and a little on the light side.

Typically a dark black double-breasted style jacket, with electric blue highlights and patters stitched across the dress-like front. Mismatched black sleeves, gloves, some trodes, and generally other subtly armored-but-protective, covering gear in blacks and blues. However, when they lost the contract in Seattle, rather than be moved elsewhere, he retired early, instead opening up a PI firm. Kit is, at heart, a street kid and an ex-ganger. Highly athletic, a crack shot with her pistol, and Seattle's most likely to have already nicked your breakfast bar. Playful, down to earth, and a conniving liar who can't read worth a tic and paints with traditional spraycans when she feels the mood.

Highly focused on Gymnastics, Pick-pocketing, Automatics, and Con, with a smattering of Sam and BnE skills and high edge.

Kit was left to the streets very early in life, kicked around gangs, and leveraged her wits and abilities to carve out a living. When things turned sour for that life, she slipped into the shadows to find something a touch more subtle. After a stint of working for Marion as an informant and thief, she managed to get into the game properly as a runner.
