A European animal rights group hires a group or runners to rescue the cats and steal the research results.<br /> ==Background==<br /> Kinship in Nature's Domain (KIND) has launched both lawsuits and lobbying efforts to halt the animal abuse of Pensodyne. All legal efforts have failed. They are now going to use runners for a rescue.<br /> <br /> ==The Meet==<br /> Thunder, Sizzles, Ryuuji, Rurosha, and Draven respond to Genevieve's job offer on the Shadowhaven BBS. Ms. Johnson explains that an animal rights group (KIND) has exhausted all legal remedies to protect animals being used a research subjects and have accumulated some funds for an extra-legal rescue. Funds are limited but there is an opportunity for more money if they can convince another member of KIND to hire them. Since he has information they need for the rescue she encourages them to put their best feet forward. Transportation to and from Lille is being provided by a friendly affiliated fixer as are accomadations at a therapy center near the target lab. The team agrees and boards a flight to Lille. After doing some legwork and resting to ameliorate jet lag they arrive in Lille<br /> They meet Professor Arregle at the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Treilles in downtown Lille. The cathedral has a positive background count and is aspected towards Christian Theurgy. After convincing their second Johnson that they are not "A bunch of pink mohawk murder hobos" they agree to steal the lab's research data in return for blueprints, security details, and additional financial compensation. The professor believes they should do what je plans to do: short sell Pensodyne stock and make a mint in the stock market. The runners prefer a quicker cash payment and even negotiate an additional 1,500 nuyen <br /> <br /> ==The Plan==<br /> The runners head to Ferme des Korrigans, a therapy center focused on horses near the lab. After a quick recon of the area surrounding the lab facility the team returns to the farm t form a plan of attack ... which is when life intervened. Sizzles gets a call and has to return to Seattle! After a quick look through Shadowhaven files he calls a runner he knows currently in Belgium, Heracles, for subcontract work. Although Sizzles provides no details, Thunder says he overheard the initials S T D but he doesn't know anyone with the initials STD. Of course after dropping Sizzles at the airport Draven runs afoul of French traffic signs ... he forgets that they refer to kilometers per hour not miles per hour. After getting lippy with the police he gets an all expenses paid 3 day vacation in a jail cell. Another frantic round of phone calls gets them Shugi in Paris. After the subcontractors arrive they get down to serious planning. First infiltration at night when only the automated systems and watcher spirits are in play. Neutralize the perimeter drones and approach-side cameras avoid the watchers and eliminate them with spirits if necessary. Neutralize the satellite uplink to electronically isolate the underground lab use spirits to control the freight elevator and stairwell. Proceed underground and neutralize the remaining opposition.<br /> <br /> ==The Run==<br /> The plan is executed almost to perfection. The only minor hiccups occur when the team triggers an alarm ward on the freight elevator so that team loses about 30 seconds of alarm-free time. The rail mounted drone on the third level is somewhat surprising but completely ineffectual. # security gaurds bonked - check. 2 plant spirit dissipated - check. Green mage bonked - check. Green mage sprayed with stick-n-shock - check. Security spider nerve struck - check. Head security mage combat monstered after surrendering - check. Collect research results - easy peasy. <br /> <br /> ==Aftermath==<br /> The team carefully removed any physical traces that could be used to identify them, and security cameras were not an issue. Astral signatures will have faded by the time they could be used. The team turns the 15 cats they rescued to Henri Korrigan, the Horse shaman and the data to the professor.
