He wanted to experience the world, not being suffocated by his fathers training and wanted to put his skills to test doing something that seemed fun, but he found out quickly that the pirate life is not what the trids make it out to be. After he had earned enough Nuyen and experience he made is way back home to Snohomish and picked up his training where he left off. His father was not to concerned with the experience, and think it was a positive for his growth.
