His introduction to the Seattle enclave's haven comes from his work with three Fixers: a Fixer from his home sprawl's own shadow haven, Elara van der Meer, and Ezekiel Martin. To hear Courier tell it, which he seldom does, he's in the shadows to master them rather than letting someone else master him: he's simply not built for the corporate life. As a result, the traits that could easily have seen him devolve into a petty criminal were instead fostered alongside his natural affinity for the recurve bow by the London fixer who recruited him, building him into a shadow runner.


			From this nascence, he flourished, expanding his curriculum vitae at a breakneck pace. Through Flipster, he was introduced to Elara van der Meer, for whom he worked semi-regularly in aid of the North German pirate group Klabauterbund. His speed and archery talents developed into part of an overall skillset for serving as a messenger and far more sophisticated smuggler. It improved his ability to identify forgeries and fakes from authentic documents and objects, as well as where to hunt people and places that might give him a lead on new opportunities.


			His arrival to Seattle to collect a smuggled artifact for his home haven from Ezekiel Martin at the onset of the ganger war intiated between the Ancients and the Cutters is incidental, but being where the action is means priceless opportunities to continue to shape himself into the peak of mundane perfection. For that reason, he has elected to remain in the exclave for now.
