Over the next few months, Cat appeared to her, helped her befriend her first familiar, and then convinced her to move to Seattle. Of course, her parents noticed and supported her remotely. The bill for her apartment never shows up and her account mysteriously always has a little spending money, as long as she doesn't do anything that could be tracked back to her and get her parents in hot water.
