She was taught both with and without her beads to call upon the spirits of those who had passed before her and entered true forms of the spirit world. He spoke in long and confusing English but they eventually got his point. He'd come to claim their land as part of a ~~corperation~~ by the name of Aztechnology. The family refused and they entered a tense standoff with ~~thecorp~~. Anna took to learning English to better understand the people trying to take their home. But to her, this wasn't enough, she needed to take action to combat this. She reached out to Smith, asking him for help and he told her of Seattle and the lives of Shadowrunners. So she was left with three options. To work legally she'd either have to enter a contract, and any corp who could get their hands on a magician would never let them go. To freelance, but she saw that as a very limited option and not as profitable as other options could be and setting up would take more money ~~then~~ she had. Or to enter the shadows, where work was plentiful, risky, and rewarding. She took the final option and left for America. Taking the name passed down from mother to daughter in her family, she began working as a runner, sending money back to help her family and hopefully return one day.
