The trauma of this grenade-like explosion combined with the following airplane crash caused Ingvild's magical talents to awaken, and they were exceptionally powerful. So powerful, in fact, that despite seventeen fragments penetrating her torso and limbs.the blunt trauma from a hard airplane landing in water, and being starved of oxygen for four minutes, her magic kept her alive long enough for Emergency Response teams to arrive on site.
