Very effective, though, to keep a spirit like that in check the whole time - that I can't deny in the slightest. The greatest casualty of this mission was my van. Poor thing, it didn't deserve so many cicada bites.

			I hope Hop's okay. The way she was freaking out, I would have been fried in a nanosecond.

With a mostly defanged mother wasp spirit in tow, the crew~~ are tasked with escorting this unusual VIP through the infested region surrounding Wichita, Kansas. The goal: use the spirit's innate ability to locate a hive to pinpoint the location of the Kansas swarm's primary hiding place. Once located, get out quick, and inform the UCAS of its location to clear the way for a bombing run. Easy, ne? If only the UCAS were willing to help - their way is one of slow safety and inefficacy. Outside help getting things done is bad for optics, and so the runners must evade both factions at play if they are to succeed.		Wherein the team are hired by [[Wychking]] to escort a bug to a hive. Things do not go as planned, and then they do.

	~~After airdropping into the wild warzone of Kansas, the crew gather in~~ [[~~Red Ribbon]]'s bulldog and begin traveling stealthily in the direction the mother wasp spirit points, kept in check by~~ Wychking and the promised threats to its young should it betray them. After some smart maneuvering through the underbrush, the crew encounter difficulties when met with the task of crossing the heavily-surveilled Interstate Highway 135. After a botched attempt at stealth by [[Bunny Hop]] to ~~directly access and override~~ a ~~camera slaved~~ to a very potent PAN, the crew engage with insect spirit opfor on the meat and decker opfor on the Matrix. [[Red Ribbon]] performs a rescue maneuver to save the hapless rabbit, [[Rurosha]] ru-rushes into the treeline on the opposite side of the freeway to engage, and a brief combat begins before the crew take off headed South toward Heston.

	~~With time a much more pressing factor and the swarm alerted, the crew go offline to avoid the opfor hacker and speed through the underbrush to avoid satellite imaging~~. Eventually, they find themselves at an impasse. The insect mother has given inconsistent directions, and the team can travel further East into the swarm, South into a much ''bigger'' swarm, or North directly into the well-armed arms of the UCAS. Faced with no good decisions, the team opt to go south when the spirit makes its move. The team's adepts sense danger, but too late. It opens its mouth and screeches, inviting artillery from the North and zombified insect spirits from all other directions. [[Red Ribbon]] steps on the gas and makes moves to evade as dozens of bodies land and crawl on the bulldog's outer shell.

	~~[[Marrisa]] leaps into action~~ as [[Red Ribbon]] moves to shake the bodies off the bulldog. The van's doors fly open as the combat adepts work to actively push back the swarm from the vehicle, only to allow the Wasp spirit to make its move to escape. After some ineffective pursuit, the spirit ultimately chooses to astral project and run away. [[Red Ribbon]] makes the executive decision to call the run a wash, and ~~is backed up in this by [[Wychking]], who informs the group that it's okay to fall back thanks to some new intel she's received.~~

	Back at the extraction point, [[Wychking]] informs the crew that the entire thing was actually a memory op, and that what looked like a partial success was in fact all according to plan. A bittersweet victory, thankfully more sweet than bitter after all.
