==Background==
Joel was born and raised in one of Proteus´ North Sea Arcologies to a couple of simple Proteus citizens. From the beginning his life was given to the corp, with his parents having high hopes he´d achive better than they had it. No bad position at all but parents are parents. Guided and protected by his parents and the Corp he grew up in a quite nice envroinment. In early screening he was found to have remarkable physique and mental fortitude and was selected for training in the Corporate armed security forces. Quite a step up from his former position. As one of the best in his class he begann his career at 20 years oldand served well up untill his 27th birthday when he was offered a position in the Special Ops Team. Driven by his prior successes he aimed to take the position but had an argument with his parents, who feared for his life now that he would be a real soldier and not "just a nice policeman" as they put it. Despite this he still took the offer and was put through additional training and entered active service with 29 years. A year later while he was out on a mission his home arcology got hit by a Run and his parents ended up as collateral damage. Heavily injured but not yet dead they both had to be put on life support and Joel nearly quit over the incident.
He was approached with another option: As one of the best in the Team he was yet again offered a new position in an experimental force in exchange for continued life support for his parents and eventual life-saving surgery. Desperate and seemingly out of options he took the offer and was transformed into a cyborg shell and put through rigorous mental training and manipulation.

He now only knows his Codename and the fact that if he refuses to work someone will die, someone very important to the Corporation. His new mission is to gather data about the life and work as a Shadowrunner by partaking in these activities. As Seattle is considered a Running Hotspot he was put into service in the Emerald City under the watch of his handlers.

The Project runs under the name "Codename: Krabbe" and Krabbe has been the assigned handle for Joel.
