 Mei was born and raised in Guanzhou (Canton), as a corporate citizen of Wuxing, Inc. She quickly became a shrewd businesswoman and a cunning negotiator, furthering these talents after her awakening as an adept. She found her way into Wuxing's talismongering division and, with Wuxing's tacit consent, made contact with Triad elements in Vietnam to establish a talislegging operation through the lawless Guangxi region. For a while, things went well, and the operation ran a healthy profit. Recently, however, Mei had a sudden and unexpected falling out with her contacts in Vietnam. Mei never learned the true cause of this, but suspects interference from the Red Dragon Triad in Guangzhou, souring relations to sabotage an operation benefitting Wuxing and their allied Triads. About year ago, a routine security sweep of all the vehicles in the parking garage revealed that her car had been fitted with a bomb, one showing signs of Triad handiwork. About a month later, while walking home from a night out, Mei was attacked in an alley, her arm broken along with other injuries before her attacker fled, the sound of KE sirens drawing near. Her assailant hadn't bothered trying to take anything. The message was clear, she needed to leave the Canton Confederation. She looked to Seattle, where the Red Dragon had recently been expelled, and requested a transfer. She now works for the Seattle division of Wuxing as a talismonger, and runs a new talislegging operation with the Wuxing affiliated Triads.
