This is due to the fact that Mekkanyx is autistic and prefers talking to her drones and vehicles and tech than other people. She has never been very good at picking up on social cues and always has a weird remark to make that she thinks is relevant or appreciated, but ends up coming off as completely awkward. Sometimes she'll try to fix this awkward tension with the joke, but her jokes always fall flat because she thinks that they're "cool" based on what she's observed most people react to, but she just can't ever seem to deliver. ~~So.... she~~'s ~~not a social person! She has never been very good at picking up on social cues and always has a weird remark to make that she thinks is relevant or appreciated, but ends up coming off as completely awkward. Sometimes she'll try to fix this awkward tension with the joke, but her jokes always fall flat because she thinks that they're "cool" based on what she's observed most people react to, but she just can't ever seem to deliver. To make matters worse, when MCT attacked the DoD and didn't listen to any explanations made by the Security Firm - thus resulting in the DoD's dissolvement and loss of personnel, Mekkanyx further retreated into her personal shell and started believing that trying to talk to others simply served no real useful purpose and has difficulty believing conversation will ever actually resolve any issues or get her anything she needs.
