			An old friend once said, “There's only two reasons someone’s in this line of work: Thrills, and bills.”
			People from all backgrounds and walks of life run the shadows, but they all come for one of those two reasons. They dive in because they have no other choice, dragged down by greed or necessity or some suicidal drive to make something of themself, and they never come up for air again.

			Oracle was the second kind of person. He left behind a life of luxury for his wife, Kotomi, and became a shadowrunner for the family he hoped to make with her, to give them the life he thought they deserved. Unlike many runners, Oracle still had that connection to the outside world, a real SIN, people waiting for him at home every night, a normal life. It was a simple enough plan- run a few jobs, make a few connections, and cash out when he had enough saved up to secure his future. He had that luxury, so long as he kept focused he could do the impossible: step into the shadows and come back out again.

			But things are never as simple as we would like them to be.

			To Oracle, family was everything. It was the reason he put his neck on the line, the reason he wanted that better future. So when he came to view the runners at Arcane Eye PI as a second family, things became complicated. His motivation changed, the elf stayed one to protect the people he came to love, because he thought he could save them.
