Goals

Fia was born into her magical powers. She did not earn them by might or by practice, instead inherited them from birth. One of her goals in life is to understand better understand her ability to cast and weave magic. In the past, she was used as a tool to hurt others, and moving forward she wants to be able to control herself and magic to a point where she won't accidentally hurt anyone again.

Fia's mentor is a spirit of fire, which causes her to throw herself at causes she believes in. When she was active in Redmond, she became acquaintances and was helped by Heart of the Tempest and Swerve. Through their action they left an impression on Fia that caused her to see them the same as any other person. Finding out that the populace despised these kinds of people did not sit well with her, and sparked her need for them to have equality. Misguided or not, she's intends to give this cause her all.
After becoming infected, she found Amelie Baptiste and Fia believed her to be a mentor of sorts. Because of this kindness, Fia decided to align herself with the Night Throne and their goals believe the herself and Amelie to have intrinsically similar goals.

Background
Fia d'Moon was born of to a blood cult believing that she would be some grand icon of retribution. From a young age, her innate magical ability was used by the cult to do harm and gain notoriety. All dreams end, however, and when the cult was cracked down on by SAEDER-KRUPP Kill squad, she was stolen away by a friend of her mother, knowing that if she was apprehended, being tagged as a mage and a criminals would be a death knell to her. Through their kindness, they were released onto the streets of Seattle with a fake ID and barely any creds.
Fia tried to make an honest living - the naïve idealism of hers soon snuffed out by the reality of the world. Working with fixers, finding a place to call home, working with the local church to help others. All these were fine until she desired a further understanding of her latent and since untouched powers.
In March 2083 Fia became active as a runner in Seattle. During this time she had a record of killing over thirty people, including gangers, orcs, and notably two corpos. The immense dread of what she had done caused her to spiral into a depression, and as a way to get out of it she decided to take a run in the summer of 2083 to deliver a corpo briefcase to a ganger territory.
While on the run, she went through the drivethrough of a nearby NeoCurry and ate undercooked food which caused her to become food poisoned. She pulled over and passed out on the side of a northbound highway, and upon waking found that her car had been ransacked and the briefcase was taken. Fearing repercussions, she left everything behind and fled north to Vancouver for aproximately six months. In December of 2083, Fia returned to seattle and moved in with Hibiscus.

Discovering more about her magic powers, Fia found through trial and practice that her alchemy was a skill to be honed. She spent the better part of 2082 working to improve her skills to a point where her alchemy is how her favorite pastime.

Fia had hurt many people growing up, and as an adult she had an streak of pacifism that was taught through trauma and not wanting to repeat past mistakes. Rather than have to deal with her squick for hurting others, she tries to get it over and done with, like ripping off the bandaid.

Fia learned particularly the hard way that leaving a trace of yourself on the astral is a terrible idea, and to be a mage that can take over people's actions is a death sentence in the wrong crowd. Her first attunement with the astral realm left her with the knowledge of how to take care when leaving an astral signal, allowing her to hide her true nature.

The secrets of alchemy, of casting magics into objects for use later and the magical understandings therein were a skill and a knowledge Fia fiended after. Her passion and skill emboldened her research, and her foray into the astral a third time left her with the further understanding of alchemy and the world around her.

Fia was born deaf, and was taught sign language by a local pastor at a church after she escaped the cult. Using a DNI has helped her overcome many setbacks that her birth afforded her.
