Background
Born back in 2061, Lumina Reyes found herself in the loving arms of her doting mother and father. Albeit, she was a surprise to be sure. Mrs Reyes was not expecting to be giving birth to a baby with four arms, let alone one with thin chitin plates covering her limbs, or two pairs of limp and luminous silky moth-like wings. Nor one that would grow as fast as Lumina would. Yet, even as she grew to the size of a teenager by the time she was 5, her mother and father never stopped loving her. She was their firefly.
Then came Lumina's sixth birthday, and a sheltered and loving family life would now face the ire of a SURGEd entering one of society's harshest and most judgemental cesspools: the public education system. Socially outcasted even among the outcasts, Lumina found her magical awakening young, wanting nothing more than to disappear. Lo and behold, the rapidly growing moth girl was gone to all eyes. This was her life for years, staying out of sight and out of mind as much as she could, keeping her grades up and working on one thing that mattered to her - her education.
It wasn't until high school, a now 14-foot-tall teenager, that Lumina actually found a friend who wasn't out to prank her with the age-old 'pretend to be their friend and just make them look like an even bigger idiot for trusting that person.' Jebediah Morisson. An offer of friendship was extended, even when she tried to hide. They'd become thick as thieves and shared in each other's interests and hobbies - eventually playing parahunter together. At least, until Morrison disappeared one day.
Her world shattered, she continued through her college degree in magical threats and parazoology, graduating through hard work and only a little bit of magic that grew with her. Eventually, she chased the dream they forged back in high school, joining a parahunter squad for a while. Occasionally working as a hunter; more often than not, working as a magical exterminator of particularly problematic pests, she earned her keep and found how well she worked naturally with a rifle. Her work took her far and wide, alongside many organizations, until finally finding her way to the ShadowHaven.
