Summary

Multi-team run to extract a scientist and his family from EVO.

Background

One doctor Michael Renfield, a high energy physicist, had concerns about his research being weaponized. Covertly reaching out to Gaeatronics, they've hashed out a plan to extract him and his family.

The Meet

The teams met in a generic e-bar, the Johnson had a generic persona. Questions were answered, details were hashed out, it was very professional.

The Plan

The job was split into 4 teams, 1A to extract the target, 1B to distract on-site EVO security, 2A to extract the target's family, and 2B to block EVO from tracking down the family.

Team 1B poured over the facility's blueprints, discovering a tunnel into it through the sewers. They share it with team 1A, who determined that the target wasn't a member of any eco-terrorist groups.

The Run

1A

Team 1A, consisting of Skimmer, Delphi and Sp4rks, having given information from team 1B about the tunnel as a possible entry point, decide to use it as well. Having determined that it's a straight shot to intercept the fire escape route from Dr. Renfield's office, they quickly head-off to intercept him. There were 2 security guards, which Skimmer quickly incapacitated. Having identified themselves as the runner team sent to extract him, the doctor quickly complied. They then exfil through the tunnels and send their all-clear signal.

1B

Team 1B, consisting of Samsara, Potato and Master Morty scouted the tunnel and prepared explosives. 3 days after the meet, after some minor trouble marking the fire alarm system, the team otherwise managed to get into the facility without issue. Morty data spiked the on-site spider into unconsciousness. Morty then activates the fire alarm, causing the facility to evacuate. Once in, Potato rigged the local servers to explode, while Samsara tries to pull a Frag-Face and threw expensive lab gear at other lab gear. After getting the all-clear signal from team 1A, Samsara and Potato exfils through the tunnel, and blow that up to stymie any later attempts to investigate.

2A

Team 2A, consisting of Tahki and Babylon, decided to party for a bit for 12 to 18 hours in the 72 hours between the meet and the run. After some binding between the two magicians, they scout out the park where the family was supposed to be, the night before. Much bonding between the two was had. On the day of the extraction, the pair showed up half an hour early. Doctor Renfield's family was there early as well, accompanied by a guard previously hired by the doctor. After being told by the Johnson about her at the meet, the team ask if they can ask the doctor to negotiate with the guard. After some embarrassed panic from Renfield about him forgetting about the guard, and the doctor then informing the guard about the circumstances, the team proceed to act out a magic fight with the guard. They then extract the family and the guard, leaving via subcontracted rigger, hired by the J for this occasion.

2B

Team 2B, consisting of Ca1yps0 and Tripp, went to scrub the Renfields' house of any trackers, tags and astral signatures 2 hours after the family was extracted by 2A. There was a watcher outside, but it was easily dealt with by Tripp. The pair took some time to be careful about the job, but it was still rather quick. Once done, they call in the movers to pack everything. After some time, the team receive their payment.

Aftermath

Dr. Michael Renfield was successfully extracted from EVO employment, and his family was prevented from being used as blackmail.

Game Quotes

Player After Action Reports (AARs)

Skimmer

"Straight forward extraction, no hiccups. Everything was smooth and professional. Dropped two security agents with no fuss, Stick-n-Shock so they would eventually get back up again. Sp4rks and Delphi handled the electronic particulars, but from what I hear there wasn't really much to deal with. The principle was recovered with no issues. Solid run, well done guys."

Master Morty

"Had to provide a distraction for another group of runners, Samsara and Potato did excellent meat work busting up the place. I scragged the spider, then set off the fire suppression system to clear the building, unlocked a door to provide an entrance to the meat team. All in all, very well done distraction if you ask me. The Matrix is my home, and the spider quickly learned he was not welcome. Didn't kill him though, that's just bad business. At least until I figure out how to make E-Ghosts..."

Tahki

Babylon is so much fun! Who new black mages were such a riot... Chaos pushed me to show off though, by binding a big spirit; that hurt so much. But all went well after three days of partying it up with Babylon and Pell; almost forgot to plan for the job, lol. But, last minute check turned up that the bodyguard was in the know, so we faked some shenanigans with her and managed to extract the family with no issues. Got to go though, got another all night bender with Babylon..."

Sp4rks

Working with Skimmer and Delphi is always a delight. Professionnal, but most of all great at what they do, Skimmer even used non lethal rounds, which tells me he's maybe a little less emotionless about his part in all this than when we met? I feel a little bit like that myself to be honest, i might be projecting.

Also i just have to say, Morty if you read this, that move you pulled was su-perb, and i'm happy you went for non lethal.

Delphi

Pretty straightforward gig - extract a corporate scientists from his lab while another team caused the distraction. Sp4rks and I handled the legwork to make sure there wasn't anything untoward going on, and plot out a route inside using the B-team's ingress. I saw a weird-looking elf with tusks that I swear was wired up, plus some cyber-armed dwarf and Morty covering them on the 'trix. Everything went smoothly, Skimmer took out the guards and we made a clean exfil with the target after making it look unwilling. Everyone wins in the end, except for Evo, but frag them.

Samsara

This job was great! I got to smash up a lab full of expensive stuff and have the security forces focus on me (spoilers: they can't shoot for drek) while Potato blew up the server and Morty fragged with the matrix. Gotta say I really enjoy this distraction work honestly, I'm gonna need to talk to Warboss about getting me more of it in the future - everyone else gets to worry about the hard part, while I just focus on the stuff that I do best. Easy money at the end of the day, plus that scientist got a new job that maybe he'll actually enjoy. Always nice to have a feel-good job.

Babylon

Woo! Easiest gig with the Haven yet - I got to party with Tahki for a few days before we went to the park to extract this guy's family from corporate custody. Always a nice change of pace to see a corp looking out for the family, I only wish I'd been so lucky back after the Crash. Turns out the bodyguard was in on the whole thing, so we had a fake wizzer fight for the onlookers while ushering the family into the van, then went back to the Alabaster Maiden for more drinking and dancing! Frag I love this job.

Ca1yps0

Always good to work with the new blood. Tripp handled his part of the job expertly, managing the magical security side of things while I had my new anthrodrone erase tags and covered us from the matrix. All in all pretty straightforward - we show up, case the joint, make sure nobody's watching, and take out any means to track the family before the movers come get their stuff. Everything worked out null sheen, which is always a nice change of pace. I can only hope future work goes this smoothly.
