Background

Nobuo grew up conforming to an overbearing, oppressive norm and homogenous lack of identity. He consumed media of fantasy worlds and other settings as a form of escapism and grew envious of the characters in games and movies, watching how cool they look and how unique they are. He wished he could be as cool as they could be one day -- naturally this led to emulating one of them. First by adjusting his hairstyle a little. Then by letting his hair grow out longer. He began dyeing his uniform, sticking out more and more from his peers with each passing month. His parents warned him to stop and not waste his future on a phase. It didn't end there. He kept going further, even saving up his allowance to have a swordsmith forge a real sword for him. It cost a huge amount for a teenager, but he wanted it more than anything.

The drive for an identity had by then become an obsession and even if he was only mimicking a fictional character it was his choice to do so. He kept going further and further, ordering cat-eye contacts and redoing his wardrobe. His performance in school dropped as he stayed out of house longer and longer, working odd jobs to try and earn more money for his addiction. Finally his parents' patience broke and they threw him out at eighteen, having completely screwed up his studies and bringing nothing more than disappointment to his family. Despite living out in the streets, never staying in one place for too long, he kept chasing this false identity and even began practicing his mannerisms more and more. Eventually, he hired a decker to forge a personafix based entirely on a massive list of personality traits that he'd observed in his favorite character. He wanted to become that character. Nobuo slotted the chip in and felt more right than ever.

That was ten years ago.

Little remains of that one wayward kid anymore, subverted by a personafix that's been running for years on end only to be rebooted and slotted back in. He even had a chance encounter with a spirit that, perhaps out of pity or curiosity agreed to remove his memories of his former life. Young Nobuo has ceased to exist, no longer recoverable even if you were to take the personafix out. He sacrificed everything he was to become something he admired and now he's here, ready to be like the character he idolized as a child. Some will probably think he's just a roleplayer or model doing cosplay photo shoots, but few will realize it's a fake as close to the actual character as one can get. He's a complete pretender committing so utterly to being someone else that maybe even the real thing wouldn't be as dedicated.

Drake - His lineage can be traced to Ryumyo. His draconic form has a mild anomaly, however.
Mentor Spirit: SOLDIER - Always advocating a never-ending sprint for the future. Followers of SOLDIER despise stagnation and regression, often represented with sloth.
