Background

Michelle Serrano, 2nd wife of Dr. Walter Serrano (CEO and founder of Serrano Petrochemicals, an unranked corp) hired the runners to take out James Turing a rogue employee who stole corp secrets and ordered a hit on her family.

Meet

The meet was uneventful and took place in The Orchid, same restaurant where the climax of All You Need Is Kill happened,

Run

The team tracked down the target into the barrens. Turns out the target was actually Walter himself and James, a mysad, conspired with Michelle to assume Walter's identity and altered SIN records. They did it to take over Walter's company. Despite this the runners took the morally dubious choice and killed Dr. Serrano.

Aftermath

Michelle and Turing's conspiracy bore fruit and they successfully took over Walter's company, excluded Walter's daughter April (from his 1st marrriage) from inheritance and shut down Project Butterfly: Walter's philanthropic endeavor to use up vast amount of his wealth to give his workers and their families better healthcare and education for the kids.

Yea, so the team did kill the good doc, I mean in the name of "we were paid to do a job, so we do the job" which in and of itself is admirable I suppose, no matter. After a bit of research we uncovered all this crazy convoluted plots to take over this company, I had to repair a caliban... which was neat and then I grabbed the data out of it, copied it of course and handed it over... functionally allowing the takeover to happen. Life is weird sometimes I guess. Meh."

Ashe

Ashe poured a margarita, her second of the night, as she pondered the run. Dr. Walter Serrano was far from the first innocent she had killed, his employees were hardly the first people her actions had harmed, but it was the first time she'd had a genuine choice about it. The meet had started normally, a private table at an upscale restaurant, though it quickly deviated when the Johnson showed up heavily bruised, with a story that a motorcade transporting herself and her family had been attacked, and that a rogue security mage named James Turing was responsible. The job seemed simple enough, terminate James Turing and retrieve the data he stole. Investigation quickly revealed that the Johnson had been more deceptive than usual. The target she had sent them after was in fact her husband and the CEO of the company they owned together, Dr. Walter, who had undergone recent plastic surgery. After neutralizing his security and examining the commlink, it became clear that Johnson and James Turing had conspired to steal the company. Ashe couldn't help but laugh a little at how bad Johnson's plan had been. If they had investigated the site of the motorcade attack instead of pursuing other leads, they might have trailed the real James Turing back to his hiding place and killed him, as they had been told to do, and ruined Johnson's plan completely. At least her inexperience hadn't caused any real problems for them, even if she did start yanking the deadline around and making veiled threats once she got nervous that her clumsy facade was starting to show cracks. At any rate, they had a choice: kill Walter Serrano, or execute his plan to pass his company to his daughter and do right by his workers. Ashe had cast her vote to do what she was used to doing, following orders regardless of the consequences. Afterwards though, after collecting their payment from Johnson and the imposter Turing, Ashe had begun thinking her new position. She wasn't with Ares anymore, she didn't have to blindly follow orders. She could have taken April Serrano's side. Ashe finished her margarita, and decided against pouring a third. She had no intention of changing her mission focussed nature, but she'd have to think about how she might accomplish her objectives in a way that she found palatable, and which orders might be worth disobeying. Later, when T-Bone mentioned his plan to soother his conscience by donating part of the payout to the same causes Dr. Walter Serrano had planned to support, Ashe was happy to match his contributions.
