Summary

A SURGED ex-ganger gal with an obsession for big guns, explosions, and mixing the two together with her natural agility. Named Neferet Fayek. Egyptian ancestry, but is a native to Seattle.

Goals

She honestly just wants to put her experience as an expert in demolitions and fire support to good use, though maybe finding bigger and better guns is something of a short term goal.

Background

Neferet used to be part of a fairly well-off gang, but not only was her gang wiped out (giving her cause to never speak of it), but she was the one who had destroyed it because of what it became. When she had joined, her gang was more about helping the downtrodden in Seattle deal with other more exploitative gangs and even exploitative corpos, but eventually, greed and desperation turned the gang into a corrupt amalgamation of itself where the gang had just become another exploitative entity.

Of all members, Neferet was the only one who seemed unwilling to stick with this route, and she spent a number of years trying to make her fellow gang members and the gang leader realize what they'd become but they wouldn't listen since the nuyen was pouring in more quickly and in larger quantities. The last straw was when the gang decided to rob a local charity group that had been doing what it could to help the downtrodden. Her gang even went so far as to use some dogs to brutally murder some of the charity's members who were more resistant to their threats and this memory has given her some trauma towards creatures with a canine bent. Seeing her former friends turned into nothing but greedy, violent monsters, Neferet felt she had no choice but to turn to the Shadows and hire a group to eliminate her gang before things got worse. Naturally, she participated directly under the alias Bastet and she used her minor connections and knowhow to gain resources and explosives to blow a hole into the gang's compound to let the Runners in and clean house. The whole time, Bastet coldly mowed down her former compatriots with sustained heavy weapons fire without mercy - her remorse and sadness turned into a silent fury drowned out by the sound of gunfire.

After that day, Bastet permanently entered the Shadows as a Runner in her own right - using the resources and connections that came with such work to build up an arsenal so potent and destructive that she won't be ignored ever again when trying to protect her community. She's always loved big guns and explosions, but now she had a just cause to put that obsession towards. Unfortunately, her former gang's transformation and unwillingness to listen soured her personality somewhat, and she's become rather short-tempered and prone to exploding on others if they annoy her enough.
