Once a corporate negotiator from NeoNET, and then Erika, Hölösuu then lost his SIN when he couldn't keep up with corpo life, moving to Seattle in order to start again

Background

Grey, dead halls. Rows and rows of women screaming in pain as doctors quietly watch on. In the halls of NeoNET's medical ward, Veikko Asunmaa was birthed. From this moment, expectations were high for young Veikko, raised by his corporate negotiator mother, and for a moment his also well respected father, though he was only 6 when he drank himself to death. Every day was training, education; honing him from a boy into a corporate citizen. And, as he grew into a man, the only break from this would be a chance meeting with a man from Erika known as Eetu Jaakkola, a man who genuinely cared for Veikko, and quickly would become his best friend. He also was a single father, and his daughter, Jaana, occasionally was tended to by Veikko to help lighten the load. Eventually, his education would finish, with a spiffy set of pheromones to boot, and into the world of corporation negotations he would go.

The Scandinavian Union doesn't accept failure, and Erika's expansion was aggressive: it was do or die. For some years, he could keep up with the pressure, but it was never eternal: he had to compete with masters of negotiation every day, and he was already on a thin thread for his work. But, at 25, that thread would snap, stress would consume him, heart and mind. It would start with a crash, as the stressed, now growing more cynical Veikko had began to neglect Jaana when given time with her, meaning he never knew that she had stolen some of his alcohol and driven straight into Vantaanjoki, only to come back up as a face that would never leave his mind until his dying breath. His best friend's daughter's death took him off his game, and soon after, he'd get fired, and with that, his SIN would vanish with his employment. Nothing was left for him in Finland, but he couldn't leave, and thus it was natural he became a runner, quickly known as Hölösuu given his prefence to conversation over cloak and dagger stealth-ops.

He spent years working there, and it was only once he got an offer from the Haven that he moved to Seattle, to finally escape his past - or at least get a change of scenery - at 35 years old.

Narrative Significant Qualities

Positive

Technical School Education - NeoNET did, admittedly have pretty good education facilities for corporate-born residents, and he took full advantage of them when growing up.

Negative

Family Curse - His father died drunk, alone. His grandfather OD'd on coke - back when it wasn't even Nova. They say his great-grandfather drowned in a pool of his own vomit. And this great lineage comes down to Hölösuu, leaving him afraid to take any drugs because he knows how easily he can come to rely on them.

Records on File (Erika) - Getting de-person'd doesn't get you completely erased: after all, they may have to kick your ass again, later.

Trivia

While normally someone to not have any sort of role-models, he is a massive fan of the runner Copperfield, keeping a copy of his posts on the Art of Confidence saved to his commlink.

He has clinical depression, but never got it diagnosed to keep up appearances as a Face.

His favourite cigarette is a black and mild Early Grave.
