Summary

Lappland agrees to do a hot extraction job against Ares Macrotechnology in Metropole. The runs starts 'in media res' with Lappland having already accepted and gotten transport, having met her team on site.

Background

Aztechnology intel services has identified that a C-level executive for Ares Macrotechnology will be on vacation with security being lowered due to unforeseen complications. (Read Shadowruns) Using this window they have a team move in an extract the target.

The Meet

Lappland met with somes Aztech intel officers in Seattle and was given transport to a ship out at sea to meet her team.

The Plan

The plan was simple and straight forward, smash and grab. Despite being such a high security zone, the 8 man team was well prepared for this and simply took out what security they could while barreling towards their target. Grab the target, hot exfil via T-bird and debrief.

The Run

The run itself started with Lappland getting to know her team, deciding the order of battle. The NPC decker hacked the gate after Lapp took out the security guard, using his credentials to open the gate. Then moving at combat speeds the rigger moved the roadmaster up onto the lawn. Using the vehicle as hardened cover, Lappland and the assault team moved up, taking out turrets and security guards.

After advancing on the house, the team dealt with a fire spirit before breaching and clearing into the executive's home. Dealing with the guards suppressing the entrance, the team advances using small unit tactics. After a fight with the head of security, they advance on the saferoom. Lapp suffers hearing damage after intentionally getting in front of the barrel of an assault cannon.

The remaining security attempts to envelope and lock them in, but Lappland uses counter fire and willingness to practically soak explosions sent at them to negate the rest of the security team.

Using more edge, after breaching Lapp seizes the init and takes out the security mage protecting the VIP. The team leaves the target's family alive as a form of leverage to get him to cooperate as they exfil.

Exfil is shakey with Lapp and co dodging fire and responding in kind to knock out the three pursuit vehicles.


Their exfil is a T-bird flying at street level at matching speed. Hoisting up from the top hatch of the roadmaster, the team with Lapp exfils into the T-bird and burns out over the coast at jet speeds after going nearly sub-orbital. Said T-bird lands on a disguised cargo ship for Lapp to exfil and debrief on.
