[[Triage]]: If I had nuyen for every drake with a developmental disability I'm met, I would have two nuyen. Which isn't much by any standard, but its honestly more drakes then I want to meet period. I honestly don't know which is worse: seeing a drake on a run, or the fact that the drake was not the most notable thing to happen. Yeah, powerful vampire necromancers interrupting your runs isn't fun either. I suppose I do owe then some thanks for helping me with the passage, but why? Triage re:gulus Clocktower Celicy Vist |
Character1 Character2 |
Summary
The Clocktower reaches out to runners to get an important tome returned, so Triage is called in to help out. Through an interesting series of turns of events, the book is returned, but not without hiccups. There are secrets revealed about the meta planes, and perhaps a method to find a portal once used to slip in between the cracks in our world.
Background
The clocktower is an organization of mages primed to help the people of Seattle resist the insipid curses of cults and mad mages, but the previous leader held a magic tome that contained all of their studies. Having been missing since the death of that leader, it's finally resurfaced in a library in Everett. A team of runner is called in to help restore ownership of that book.
The Meet
Triage meets Re:Gulus at the Clocktower HQ, greeted by a task spirit. Once inside the two talk about the mission over a game of chess, which after a tense battle, Re:Gulus wins. Offering insight into the mission, Re:Gulus lets Triage know of he scoop; the book has been found in a library in Everett and requires extraction. There are little defenses, but that might be more of a bane given how important the tome is. With information in tow, Triage sets out to find and rescue the book.
The Plan
Triage plans to use summoned spirits to gather further information. This ends up gathering lots of details around the location and book, however hiccups arise...
The Run
...when it turns out that the sneaking spirit is caught by a vampire and drake duo, a one Celicy Vist and Koori Ui. A conversation happens where Celicy asks the spirit to play a game of "Chepperz" with Ui. Saddened by the loss, Ui starts to gnaw at the table and eat the chepperz.
Interrogating Celicy, the spirit and Triage learns that Celicy is there as she's a friend of the librarian, but with the scouting done, the spirit leaves to perform a search for the book itself. This is when Celicy summons a necro spirit to assencee the spirit and its signatures. Feeling it was time to go, the spirit was dismissed and Triage set to recovering before heading out during the day.
In the morning Triage went to the library in person to find the book and recover it. Their entrance raised eyebrows with the guards, but a quick few words from Triage calmed them and let the situation be dismissed. Planning what to do, they decided to let their spirit pull a fire alarm and nab the book while everyone fled, as the library which housed magic scriptures, runes, and thesis, used a fire supression system that would lock down and remove air from the building.
Seconds after pulling the alarm, panic strikes the fleeing crowd as they realize the librarian is missing. As Triage realizes the mistake, they inform their spirit to find and save the librarian, but in secret. Nabbing both the book and the librarian, the day is saved in the eyes of triage, but to the crowd, the librarian had passed as the fire suppression system kicked in and undoubtedly suffocated the person inside.
Aftermath
Finding the librarian overdosing out back, Triage resusitated them, returning her to health before sneaking away with the book. Upon returning it to regulus they were gifted a message by Celicy's Necro spirit.

- Translated to
- Soul without a name, heed my call
- Sin doth stain the hearts of us all
- The worm hath burrowed deep and hath grown
- Soon he too shall reap what is sown
And a second passage was revealed by Re:Gulus as well.
- Step into the storm, know its mercy
- Let the wind and the rain crash down over thee
- Lightning bright, thunder bold
- Guiding us forevermore
The idea coming from Re:Gulus was that these were parts of a proof that when fully translated would lead to some epiphany of information, a hidden thesis containing instructions on how to apply a spirit formula through either sheer study or a trip to the metaplanes.
With that information in hand, Re:Gulus asked Triage to work with Clocktower moving forward, formally inviting them to work as part of Clocktower. Unsure of the proposition, Triage left a yes or no for the future. The two parted ways, Re:Gulus with the book, and Triage 6ooo nuyen richer.
