Summary
Cillian Woodsworth was a rat bastard of a person for most of his life, and while on his deathbed, wanted to make things right - this included leaving most of his money to charity on his death and undergoing exceptionally painful gene therapy every three hours for over a year in order to help foster medical research into his very rare disease.
Unfortunately, his kids wanted his money more than they wanted him.
Background
Samael was seeking work leading to a connection to Angi Harris. His SAAB Dynamit was always in need of having a good mechanic to help fix it for when runs went south, and when his fixer, Djinn, saw the job, he snagged it.
The Meet
The meet occurred at Djinn's SURGE club, with the Johnson and Angi as the means of getting across the border. After some discussion and negotiation, the job was accepted - a bonus to be paid if the death of Cillian Woodsworth looked like natural causes and a requirement that the doctored will be replaced.
The Plan
Samael did some scouting runs of the manor as well as research into Cillian in order to infiltrate the manor as a member of staff, steal the real will, and conduct the assigned wetwork.
The Run
Acquiring the outfit to get into the manor ended up proving far more expensive than anticipated, owing to a few bad lies and a bribe-able tailor. Entering the manor from the wood side, Samael has a new hatred of hedge walls but thankfully did not get caught in his numerous attempts to cross the damned things.
Once inside, the disguise process worked wonderfully, getting him time to explore the manor as a member of the cleaning staff. A search of Cillian's bedroom did not reveal anything but searching his office resulted in finding the safe where the will was likely kept. Unfortunately, this also resulted in being more or less 'made' by Cillian, who was able to sense the combat cyberware in Samael. Playing on Cillian's weakness for handsome elven men, Samael was able to talk his way through it as well as getting the on site docwagon doctors out of the office. Unfortunately, the plan to sabotage the cold storage of the gene therapy and breaking into the safe itself proved beyond his tools; Samael realized that there were some critical B&E tools he was missing during his legwork and was more or less forced to improvise on the spot.
As he entered the bedroom after the gene therapy, Samael was met with an extensively weak Cillian Woodsworth. Stalling for time, Samael continued the play on Cillian's, albeit weak, desires while his decker contact tried to work a way into the safe.
Which is when things got strange - not seeing a clear, safe, way to make the hit OR replace the will, and with Cillian catching on to the fact that Samael was not there for romance, Samael attempted the strategy of "Reckless Honesty". Cillian had asked him who he was and why he was there, and so Samael told him - the whole thing about the fact that his children wanted his money and that he knew about Cillian's disease. Samael offered him a deal, however, understanding that this old elf was in such deep pain of both a physical and social manner: in exchange for allowing him to complete his job, Samael would help him end his life on his own terms - and he would stay with him until he was gone. Faced with the idea of not having to die alone and in pain, Cillian accepted. The two elves talked for some time, sharing a meal, and Samael offering to take any cash on hand to the charities and orphanages that Cillian wished - the terms of the job were for the will and his death only.
Cillian opened his safe, allowing Sam to swap the wills, and giving him a credstick to take to one of the local orphanages after his death.
At the end, Cillian took off his biomonitor, wrote a note explaining that HE had hired someone to help him escape his pain, and let Samael inject him with a diluted amount of Narcojet so that he could drift off to a painless end. Samael stayed with him, holding his hand, until the end.
Aftermath
A short exfiltration from the manor later, Samael left with Angi - who seemed to have a newfound respect for the shadowrunner, having been listening in on the entire run - and the conversation with Cillian.
Samael never bothered to check the amount on the credstick that Cillian gave him - dropping it off at the orphanage before leaving town and heading home with quite a lot to think about.
