Summary

Kruger wishes to test Tsarina. To see if she's capable of being an asset. For this, he has a plan to cut her teeth in a job that has some unique opportunities to flaunt her strength in subtle manipulations--provide she can survive the target's machinations long enough to get into position. Tsarina passes with flying colors--not only completeing the kill in a spectacular way, but also learning the how and why and leveraging that into an agreement between Kruger and an interested third party.

Background

Larry O'Sullivan has decided that working R&D for Kruger is not paying for the luxury lifestyle he deserves, and thinks the Hong Kong Mafia would pay better. The Red Dragons are interesting in moving into Seattle, and would like some insider knowledge in...potential competition. Kruger of course sees all this and is now taking this personally: He wants Larry drawn and quartered to prove a point: If you want to do business in Seattle: You do business *with* him rather than *Under* him.

The Black Chrysanthemums have noticed The Red Dragon treated some Baigao ("White monster") at their Casinos, and wish to know why. They call up a friend of a friend to check in, a cunning and beautiful Hong Kong gambling queen: Yue-wen.

The Meet

Kruger calls Tsarina and two runners that he could get at short notice: A talented Matrix Operative, and a physical infiltrator. He outlays his "predicatment" He wants Larry O'Sullivan, a middle manager that's betraying him after taking some R&D info to the Red Dragon at one of their casinos in Hong Kong. The R&D details won't sink his operation: but it's about the diginity of the game--can't have people thinking a man of O'Sullivan's character can backstab you and get away with it. Kruger wishes for Larry's death, but will pay extra if the death is extra graphic and destructive as so the right people get the right message.

The Plan

Kruger can get the crew into the Casino: But only as normal patrons. Larry O'Sullivan is in the VIP section under constant guard. Once there, the crew can use any means necessary to reach Larry O'Sullivan and kill him. A plan that likely requires first gaining entrance to the VIP Section

The Run

After some initial legwork. Z discovers that the Casino's hosts are...rather strange...in that they are there. At least not from Hong Kong's public grid. Which is strange as once they arrive, there is a clear Matrix prescence as the machines and accomodations are all controlled wirelessly. After checking in and analyzing some direct connection ports: the trap is revealed: The host is outdated and not connected to the public grid: The technomancer would have to indeed....touch grass.

The crew pulls at various threads and debate on which threads to follow to completion. Threads such as The Black Chrysanthemums and the basement sewer infiltration are ignored for a more....classy approach. Tsarina decides instead of winning a golden chip by herself, she could be someone's plus one. And is immediately draw to the Hong Kong gambling queen: Yue-wen, in her natural habitat: Destroying mooks at Mahjong. Tsarina picks up on the table attempting to cheat Yue-wen from an easy victory, with the help of Pockets and Z thrawting the cheaters. Yue-wen then does what the kids call a "pro-gamer move" and still wins the round flawlessly despite the blatant cheating. Yue-wen however appreciates Tsarina and being a polyamorous bi-sexual disaster, decides to listen to what Tsarina has to say.

The two make their way up to the VIP section and during a luxury-lifestyle level dinner, catch a glimpse of O'Sullivan, who does his best to make Tsarina fail a sadistic and/or vindictive roll to just murder him here and now. However, Tsarina has waay to much composure and manages to keep her cool. Yue-wen notices this and offers Tsarina an offer she just can't refuse~

Meanwhile Z realizes, of course, that the VIP host is also outdated, and she would have to reach the VIP section to help out. She rigs the roulette to concoct a slow but effective plan to eventually win out, easily avoiding the Triad's spider because Technomancers are just....better.

Pockets decides that the best way for him to get up there is to knock out a twink maid and become a twink. The consequences will be adjusted to his new life.

Yue-wen tells Tsarina that they may have a common enemy: Larry. She was hired by the Black Chrysanthemums to monitor Larry and look for opportunities to ruin his standing with The Red Dragon or to embarass them in some way. Tsarina offers Yue-wen and her boss: A Daijie of the Chrysanthemums known only as Xiao-mei, the details about Larry in exchange for their cooperation and a line to the main himself: Kruger. Kruger is taken aback slightly byt his development, but is impressed by Tsarina's hutzpah and decides to listen to Xiaomei. In return Yue-wen gives Tsarina and angle and a place to kill Larry with minimal monitoring: yue-wen's room who has been cleaned out by various bribes to staff and the 289 spider.

With this the plan is in motion. Pockets is nearby treated Z as a maid. Z connects to the grid, finds the camera sever in the sewers and causes a memory leak to occur at the time Tsarina will strike. Tsarina plays a drunk socialite and stumbles into Larry O'Sullivan in his room doing an entire brick of novacoke. His guards are there, but Larry is overcome by the horny and wishes to treat Tsarina to the pleasure of his company and general existance (causing more Sadistic/Vindictive rolls) Tsarina decides to lure him into Yue-wen's room, an easy enough task as Sullivan has been eye Yue-wen for days now and believes he's going to win it all. Tsarina lures him into the bedroom, strips him down, and then brutal eviscerates the man with an ICE claw. The guards are ambushed by the crew + Yue-wen, and despite some crazy good Matrix Defense rolls, they are defeated before an alarm is raised. Tsarina drags Larry back to his room and leaves a bloody warning, and the crew leave for Seattle.

Aftermath

Kruger has a "working relationship" with the Black Chrysanthemum mostly, running his gods into Hong Kong's ports with...less overhead from government officials, in return for trafficking drugs in return shipments

Red Dragon embarrassed themselves by bringing the Triad heads to a bloody mess. To make matters worse (for them) Black Chrysanthemum has given the Triads what Sullivan was going to tell the bosses, some experimental chemicals that can be used to synthesize stronger designer drugs. Black Chrysanthemum has bought themselves more breathing room with the upper management, and Red Dragon is out for revenge.
