[[Hotdog]] began plans to travel to Twin Lakes, a small town in the SSC a few hours from Seattle. She decided to upgrade her burner SIN and attempt the border crossing as a hunter. With a bit of sweet talking and a decent sin to back it up the crossing went uneventfully. After a 6 hour drive she arrived in town and got the lay of the land. While en route, she looked up the "The Universal Peace Initiative", the public face of the cult. The information seemed like a company dedicated to pursing peace across the world. Hotdog, knowing better, decided this might be a good avenue for infiltration. Noting the online application for enrolment, she filled it out and arranged for a meeting the following day. | |||
She spent the first evening in the local tavern watching for signs of cult activity. The evening was largely uneventful but Hotdog did catch one of the patrons sporting at tattoo of an elder sign. While likely bunk, the sign does point to Elder God faith in the area. She went to sleep in a local dive, asking her Ally spirit to watch over her. During the night the spirit was accosted by locals, but the ally was able to convince them to leave. The ally proudly awoke Hotdog to brag. | |||
Groggy from the first night, Hotdog attended the meeting at the appointed facility outside of town. The office was set within a large lodge like facility and the greeting lady, Jenny Kaputo, explained a bit about their company and what they do. Hotdog feigned continued interest in joining and she offered for hotdog to stay on sight and explore the offerings to see if things would be a good fit or not. Hotdog accepted and settled in, all the while watching out for suspicious behavior. Once she was on her own, she joined a pickup basket ball game with some of the new new recruits that were being initiated in a few days. One of the opposing team, an apparent adept, let slip a few choice Elder god prayers which hotdog caught onto. She retorted and the two shared a moment of mutual respect. Later at dinner some of the others invited Hotdog to a prayer circle they were holding at midnight. Hotdog sheepishly agreed to join. This was her first real clue of potential cult activity. After joining in a simple ritual, and talking up the adept more, she learned that the company was mostly a farse, just a front for their people to practice together in peace. This sealed things for Hotdog who told Jenny, that he would like to meet with the elders and join up. Hotdog was lead to one of the Elders who after a discussion described that joining meant not just a new job but also joining a new faith. The night if the ritual came and Hotdog proceeded to the ritual site with the others. The site was a short walk from the facility deeper into the woods. It contained a large fire pit and some braziers, she found it surrounded by a force 8 ward. The ritual began and proceeded as expected, a simple Elder god initiation to the faith. The participants drank from wine laced with AISA and the ritual proceeded. However at the peak of the ritual, 5 of the new initiates snuck to the braziers and each slipped doses of shade into them, forcing the entire cult into the astral. Once there the terrified participants realized that the 5 were horrific mutations of men in disguise. Each creature a petal coated, hooved monstrosities featuring tentacled arms and suckling mouths across their bodies. Shortly after their appearance on the astral, each participant began mumbling to themselves as if having a conversation with some unseen force. The group of elders each shouting profanities and words of rejection. As soon as this happened the "dark young" on the physical began to devower them. | |||

It promised power and fame, and most importantly freedom from the chaos currently plaguing her mind. After some convincing Hotdog agreed to proposal, her body being devoured itself was not exactly beneficial, but the pitch sounded interesting as well. She made attempts to convince some of the others to join as well, many came around to doing so, some continued to refuse. Those that did were devoured as well. Summary
Hotdog sets off to investigate a possible elder god cult and on the way discovers some more of herself.

Aftermath
Hotdog awakens in the middle of the clearing, no bodies around her, no carnage, only a feeling of peach and confusion. She recovered gear from the now empty complex and rapidly returns to the safety of Seattle.
She met with Norville Craddock in person to report what she found and discovered he had set her up. Knowing full well that this cult was about to be "converted" he sent her in with the hopes of hotdog converting to his sect of elder god.
