Goals

Callsign MUFFET is to ESTABLISH independent lifestyle in AO Seattle, IOT ensure survival and avoid recapture by MCT-aligned forces.

Background

Project Huntsman was one of many clandestine bioengineering projects handled under MCT and its subsidiaries.

Started to resolve personnel problems in the Matrix specialist hiring space, Huntsman utilized a number of MCT owned fertility clinics to distribute genetically engineered gametes to select subjects. Development would be tracked, and a recovery team sent to extract those who met certain physical development benchmarks that suggested suitability for the project.

HM-C8 was one such subject, taken at birth and raised in the program. Among her cohort she excelled. Candidates were trained as security spiders and received extensive augmentation and field training for operations requiring physical intrusion or overwatch of conventional teams.

However, she had begun to exhibit paranoid and neurotic behavior that was marked by the program's psychiatric overseers. While this was not immediately a concern due to her otherwise excellent progress, when Project Huntsman was shuttered she was among those assets scheduled for liquidation to recover augmentation and rare reagents.

The project was deemed too expensive, a waste of time and money when cheaper alternatives existed. Due to the high risk profile attached to her behavior, her continued service was no longer required. HM-C8 was made aware of her incoming liquidation, due primarily to snooping around files she had no authorization to access, and opted instead to escape during what would have been her final field exercise.

Going by the handle "Muffet", she has found work selling her expertise as a hacker. Unfortunately, her work up until now has barely covered her living expenses. Lagging maintenance for her augmentations, poor nutrition, repeated exposure to allergens, and rarely leaving the cramped confines of the coffin hotel pod she rents in Tacoma out of fear of discovery has become an untenable lifestyle and left her significantly deconditioned.

Mentor Spirit(Spider): Muffet has long had a voice in her head, urging her to caution. To plan. To weave her webs without gaps. She listens to this guiding force.

Negative

Down The Rabbit Hole: Obsessed with never leaving anything to chance, she has a bad habit of getting lost in the weeds chasing irrelevant details.

PSC(Overpreparation): Muffet feels compelled to prepare: Something as simple as a snack run requires creating a shopping list, obtaining the floor plan, identifying emergency exits, determining where in the store the item is located, confirming that the item is in stock, performing a background check on the cashier, staking out the location, checking first responder response times for the area, and creating a plan of action before proceeding. Trying to get her to move more quickly is like pulling teeth. There's always just one more factor she needs to plan for, one more piece of equipment she needs to acquire...

Appearance

A short, slight albino woman.

Her white hair is typically kept tied back in a braid, with bangs that look like she probably cuts them herself. With her pale skin and gray cybereyes, she looks nearly monochromatic.

All four limbs have been replaced with sleek prosthetics covered in pale, flesh-tone dust sleeves that could only possibly conceal their nature under the most unfavorable of conditions. She carries herself like she's trying to look even smaller than she really is. She rarely takes her eyes off her AROs.

Clothing

Dark clothes, often baggy hoodies and sweatpants in her casual attire. Most of it is riddled with corporate logos. She seems to have a thing for spiders, with a lot of related motifs and graphics.

Matrix Persona

A petite, smiling woman in a frilly dress. She scuttles along on a set of eight spindly black spider legs that emerge from beneath the hem.
