Character Information

Summary

Nyanhka is your typical internet troll who watches too much anime, and plays too many video games. The only saving grace is that they are able to obtain and sell information on cheaters and liars for those who have the cash and has since sold out as a private investigator. A shy quiet person when you meet them in person, but is a very loud and obnoxious person with an inflated ego when in the matrix. Making bold claims, and showing disturbing footage showing their investigative findings when clients refuse to pay to the matrix public.

Goals

• To be a world renowned hacker, even if no one knows the face behind the name.
• To be rich enough to sit at home and play nothing but video games.
• To integrate within the entity known as Brainchild.

Background

Nyankha grew up an average person living in the slums of the city in a rough neighborhood but their parents constantly tried to give them the best they could offer. A stable connection into the matrix and a decent education, Nyankha spent all their money on their cyberware trying desperately to become more and more cat like. It was not long before their ego got heightened, overhearing arguments with the neighbors and resorting to minor blackmail with what they overheard. Eventually this lead to investing more and more into cyberwear, and making a name for themselves online as Nyankha. A matrix troll who would constantly make big claims about taking down secured networks and leaking information onto the public forums. Then selling their abilities to the general public by day to get information to once again leak in a never ending spiral of blackmail and subterfuge as a private investigator.

Narrative Significant Qualities

Positive

• Bio compatibility (Cyberware)

Something about the character’s body is exceptionally accepting cyberware implants. Not only are the implants not rejected, but they seamlessly fit within the body, having less impact on its holistic integrity.

• Codeslinger

Ones and zeroes are practically a native language to a Codeslinger. The character is adept at performing a particular Matrix action (Hack on the Fly) and receives a +2 dice pool modifier to that Matrix action.

• Online Fame

People know your icon and your signature, but even your most ardent fan wouldn’t recognize you if they passed you in the street on a brightly lit day. Further, none would actually believe you if you tried to tell them (quite the opposite, in fact). You gain +2 dice to your Social tests and +2 dice to your Social Limit when interacting with someone who knows you, but only when you interact with them via the Matrix.

• Quick Config

Maybe you’re just nova-hot at moving your fingers around, or maybe your mind is highly organized. Whatever the case, reconfiguring your deck is something you do with freakish rapidity.

Negative

• Insomnia (Basic)

A character with the Insomnia quality has trouble falling asleep and seldom feels well rested. Usually, this is only an annoyance. For runners, however, this can become a major problem when they are dependent on being able to rest at every opportunity to remain sharp. Insomnia can lengthen the amount of time it takes for a character to recover Stun damage.

• Matrix Troll

The character can’t help but plant misinformation when given the opportunity. In fact, it’s their method of choice when interacting with foes.

• Signature (Matrix Trademark)

A character with this quality feels it is necessary to leave their calling card to announce their involvement in a job. The signature is usually some specific item, symbol, or technique the character uses that identifies their participation. For those who know the character and their signature, the signature is easily identified. Anyone performing a test to identify the character’s handiwork or track the character is given a dice pool modifier equal to the character’s Street Cred and Public Awareness combined.

Long black hair, slim figure, usually in sporty wear with a large armored jacket with Cat Tail, Eyes and Ears. Bulky sneakers which seem to be magnetically lined.

Matrix Persona

A black patchwork anthropomorphic cat with a human head. Scar tissue running down the right side of their face with a black voided eye, and a smile that is far too wide for their face. Always wearing a hooded cloak, and strapped leather cloak. Their paws are striped black and purple. An assortment of nails, crosses, and safety pins are sunken into the body.
