Summary

When Dr. Nina Farraday's patient goes missing, he calls in a runner team to check in on them and extract them from danger.

Background

The good Dr. Farraday runs an infected clinic. When his patients don't show up he gets worried and checks in on them. Hearing nothing, he hires a runner team to figure out what's going on.

The Meet

The team meet with Farraday to figure out what to do and where to go. After some communication between them all, they decide to help bring warm bodies back to Nina's clinic for feeding her patients. As the runner team heads to where the person is located, they find that there is an obviously suspicious group of military operatives a kilometer away. The team inspects it with Red Ribbon using a fly spy to visualize and hack the enemy comms. Hearing that the enemy combatants are a part of Telestrians' Pixy squad - a group of stealth operatives used to clean up targets silently - the team realizes they have barely two and half hours to save the target.

The Plan

The team decides to split up; Elegy and one of Ribbons smaller drones will head to counter snipe, while Red Ribbon and Bleach head to the target's location to intervene directly. With an order to get warm boddies, the all decide to attempt to deal with the enemy team non lethaly.

The Run

The team very quickly dispatch with the enemies at first; Bleach and Red Ribbon knock out Pixy 16 and 18, while Elegy shoots down Pixy 12, the enemy sniper. The other two Pixy combatants seemingly back away with their hands up, but elegy is 500 meters away. The runners quickly pack up to extract the target. This turns out to be a mother and her child who are both infected with HMHVV-1. Things are going Bleach gets a combat sense twinge, ducking quickly with the child. The team tries their best to react but the worst is upon them before they realize whats going on. The enemy combatant team had stim patched the sniper to finish the job of killing their intended target.

Victoria Einsburn was a telestrian Corpo until they were turned in an attack from a feral infected. This caused her to lose her job and become the target of a Telestrian hit squad. The runner team was unnable to patch the wounds of the mother, but were able to rout the enemy forces entirely. Bleach ran down the kilometer to personally deal with the remaining Pixy squad, knocking them unconscious to return them all to Farraday, where they would be fed to hungry infected who could not fend for themselves.

Aftermath

Victoria's daughter and the runner team returned to the Doctor who consoled the runners. He affirmed that things like this happen to the infected all the time. The fact that they were able to bring so many bodies to the clinic meant that folk were fed for a good time to come, and many lives would be saved, even though Victoria's was lost. Elegy goes her own way, while Red Ribbon and Bleach head to the Daze to drink away the sorrows of the evening.
