Summary
The team went to a fighting tournament and won the prize after a fierce throwdown.
Background
Granny Tusk’s grandkids were on a team in an underground fighting tournament. They got a bit rowdy at a celebration party for making it into the semi-finals, and weren’t able to compete. She’s bringing in the runners to sweep the rest of the tournament.
The Meet
Lumina was reviewing her past fights with a toxic mage. Stryker was munching on a bowl of noodles while doing maintenance on his arm. Reign of Bullets was performing some much needed maintenance on her HMGs. The team got calls from their fixers calling them to a small knitting store in Snohomish. Granny Tusk reiterated that there was to be no dismemberment or death. The team was instructed to meet her and some of her grandkids in a parking garage for transport to the tournament.
The Plan
Stryker picked the moniker “Blue Demon.” Lumina chose “Silver Lynx,” and Reign of Fire called themselves “Dwarven Decimator.” Collectively, they were the Nightrunners. Reign was able to remember that Steelbone Dave was known as an unstoppable troll fighter with full body replacement and a shotgun. Queen Bess was a giant adept that had just as many fans that liked her for her looks as she did who loved her combat prowess. Gary. Just Gary, was an ork known for his talent at wielding two weapons and his cyberware. The team decided that they would take out Queen Bess, then Gary. Just Gary, and finally Steelbone Dave. Before the fight, like all winners, the team took some drugs.
The Run
The team was picked up by Granny Tusk’s kids and escorted through the ork underground to the venue. Gary, just Gary delivered a hearty blow to Reign of Bullets. Stryker sends a full-auto blast into Gary, just Gary shocking him before taking cover. Queen Bess dives into melee with Stryker and almost knocks him unconscious. Lumina comes in and takes down Gary, just Gary. Steelbone Dave approaches and unloads his shotgun wounding Lumina and Reign. Stryker suppresses Queen Bess leaving her open for Reign to fire upon.
Stryker fires on Dave, but isn’t able to penetrate his steely body. Queen Bess tries to finish Reign, but she barely grazes her. Lumina closes into melee as Reign lays down suppressing fire on Queen Bess. She catches a stick-n-shock and goes down. Reign moves to slap a stim patch on Stryker before landing a lucky shot that takes down Dave
Aftermath
The team was victorious and reveled in the feeling of victory
