Summary

The runners are contracted to kill KE Detective Micah ap Llewelyn in order to free up space for a promotion from below. Micah is as corrupt as they come, taking bribes, shaking down people, etc. His partner, however, Maxwell Strong is a bright eyed rookie who is a Letter of the Law kind of kid. He is loosely affiliated with the Gianelli family of Tacoma.

Background

Detective Micah ap Llewelyn is the worst kind of corrupt cop in Knight Errant's employ and has generally been resigned to the dustbin of the group. He is not well liked and his promotion prospects vanished many years ago. As a result, he's turned to graft and leaning on the various street level elements of organized crime in Tacoma. One of his subordinates, however, set out the contract to get him removed in hopes of moving up and clearing some promotion space.

The Meet

Located at Basil's Faulty Bar in Tacoma, the team met the Johnson and negotiated for some extra cash given the danger inherent in taking down a member of Knight Errant. The Johnson stressed that the bonus payment would only come on completion of the mission if, and only if, it was done in a way which did not explicitly seem like a hit had been put out on Micah. It needed to look like a traffic stop gone bad, a ganger crossfire, or something similar that could be attributed to "just another night in the city."

The Plan

The team decides to attract the crooked cops attention in order to get him out of the Tacoma Dome Hotel, and then make the situation look like a "lean" that went wrong. They did the legwork to discover a location where the hotel's watcher spirits won't be an issue and the hacker is prepared to loop the cameras covering the parking lot. The team gives it a few days in order to acquire some fancier clothing with armor in it as well as for folks to prepare for the run. Each of them wears a Snythskin mask to not appear as themselves.

Bicorporal takes some time to do Preparations while Chance does the Matrix runs to learn some background on the targets: Micah is accompanied by his very rookie, and seemingly by the book, partner named Maxwell Strong. There is some debate about if it is simpler to take him down with Micah or try to draw him away.

The Run

The team sets up in the parking lot, taking the time to loop the hotel cameras and remembering to resolving the Knight Errant cruiser. Chance digs deep for some Matrix Monkery and manages to score a siiiingle net hit on the KE cruiser, allowing him the two marks to do some editing and setting up another loop. Chance uses the car to spoof a message over to the two KE officers to come out and check their car.

As the two KE officers come out, Chance hacks the rookie's eyes, stopping him in his tracks as the rest of the gang pull their con - Micah clearly interrupted a drug deal in process. A short conversation later, Trauma fills him full of holes and the team bails, their task completed.

As they leave, they empty some rounds into the KE car from their suppressed guns, causing the rookie to duck back into cover. A short drive, and a comm call later, the nuyen pours is.
