Much to the shame of her corporate family, she goblinized into an oni as a young teen and suddenly, life was more difficult not just for her but the rest of her family: whispered questions about her mother's faithfulness, suddenly drastically altered expectations, and a home life that was suddenly much colder. Futilely determined to prove herself not to be a burden and disappointment, Hisae got herself signed on with a Renraku security subsidiary, intending to use it as a springboard to a more prestigious bodyguard position only to discover that a lot of the people she was being ordered to beat down happened to look a lot like her. A year into her employment, a glitch resulted in her corporate SIN vanishing without a trace. Hisae shrugged her shoulders and was just about to start the process of getting the situation fixed when she stopped and had an epiphany.
