MCTs metaplanar strip mining operations have been delving deeper than before, encountering unprecedented resistance. They desired the adaptability of metahuman subject along with the astral navigatory abilities of spirits. Unfortunately, bound or summoned spirits had a habit of rebelling or going rogue and standard metahuman shock troops proved ineffective. After a strenuous and brutal testing process, they have settled upon a model that works. A possession spirit and a subject, engineered from birth to complement one another. Their bodies or spirit formulas designed for one another, so that they become broken when apart. Formula alteration, implanted memories and conditioning were used judiciously to accomplish this purpose. Ikari and Bezaisen. Anchor and Vessel. The ideal metaplanar shock troop.

Doctor Caroline Takahashi - The arcitect of the program at large, the woman who created the ikari and bezaisen, built them with her own designs. She is ruthless, ambitious and utterly loyal to the corporation.

Metaplanar Denizens

The entities inhabiting the metaplanes being targeted by the strip mining operations. For a time, they were unable to place any sort of concerted defense but word travels fast in the spiritual word. More and more defenders are rallied to oust invaders from their homes. Among these are the Crystaline Entities, enigmatic telepaths and metaplanar control freaks. Their ulterior motives are unknown but they oppose the metaplanar incursions regardless.

The Crystaline Hivemind - Despite their ordered corporate structure, the entities are not amused by the troops marching through the planes. They find that sort of conduct ... disorderly.

Assorted Metaplanar Denizens - The regular spiritual inhabitants of the metaplanes that have taken up arms against the intruders.

Rogue Bezaisen

The duology of ikari and bezaisen is typically simply referred to as 'bezaisen', as the anchor is viewed as the less important of the two. Nevertheless, that naming structure falls short when it comes to the rogues, those that have escaped MCT's influence. Some are duos, complete in both halves. Others mourn the loss of one piece of themselves. Some of them ally with the spirits against their comrades. Other search for escape.

Important Members

The Woman in White - The Bezaisen that was formerly bonded to the ikari now known as 'Asura'. She has been thrust into the metaplanes and hunts for her better half, unable to accrue karma without her. She is willing to betray even her kin if it means surviving.

Ruroinin - A particularly powerful ikari that lost her bezaisen. She is eager for revenge against MCT but more than that, she desires to be whole once again.
