Summary

Minamoto "Red Wraith" Kuniko is japanese runner, originally from Neo Tokyo. She was once an experiment from Yamatetsu/EVO, but was freed after an incident involving shadowrunners. Following the samurai's path of the Ronin, she has forged a new life as a Hooder within the shadow community.

Goals

Serve the shadow community, and act with honor and compassion. It is conceivable that she may be a strong candidate to be a hero for the City Watch, if she ever meets them.

Background

Minamoto Kuniko was created as a prototype test subject by a Yamatetsu facility in Japan on February 14th, 2061. She was originally created as the result of genetic alterations and enhancements to improve a human's overall efficiency and longevity, with the intent of forging a new type of super soldier for Yamatetsu (who would later become EVO). Of many test subjects that were attempted to be created through this process, Minamoto was one of the only few who were successful when 'born', surviving the alterations. Throughout her early life, she was treated as a lab rat for Yamatetsu's (later EVO's) studies on enhanced human genetics. However, during the instability of Yamatetsu's hierarchy in 2065-2066 (before becoming EVO), those in the shadows wished to exploit their vulnerability. One such event was a run involving a team of shadowrunners to infiltrate the facility, to steal valuable data and goods. During the data acquisition, the shadowrunner team learned of the super soldier project, and the result of it being Minamoto, who was still a child at the time. As such, realizing her potential value, they offered to free and rescue her from the facility, along with any other test subjects (who were alive and stable) to be freed as well.

To be safe away from EVO's search teams, the shadowrunner team returned to Seattle with her for safety once the job had been settled. This led to Minamoto being raised not by EVO, but instead from the shadows. The shadowrunner team adopted her as one of their own, and chose to raise her with respect, which was a stark contrast compared to how Yamatetsu treated her. With guidance and training, she learned to have a life she otherwise would not have, thanks to the shadowrunners who intervened. This has made her respect the shadow community greatly, and is honorbound to them. Once she came of age into adulthood, she was ready to become a shadowrunner herself, both as an act of service and gratitude for the heroes in the shadows that saved her, but also to get a chance of payback against EVO, for mistreating her in childhood.

Toughness : Being specialized as a front line combatant, she is tougher than usual to put down thanks to her enhanced genetics and overall resilience.

Negative

Code of Honor (Path of the Samurai) : Red Wraith strongly respects the honorable samurai code, and acts with compassion and grace at all times when afforded. It's the guideline for her morality, and as such, the one thing that helps maintain her humanity. In particular, due to her being honorbound as a shadowrunner, and straying away from corporate law, she follows the Path of the Ronin. This means her personal compassion and feelings override the seven virtues of the samurai's path.

Distinctive Style : She has a very distinct look about her, favoring the colors of red and black with her styles of dress.

One Born Every Minute : She tends to give people the benefit of the doubt, and due to her relatively soft-hearted nature, this aspect of her can be exploited.

Minamoto "Red Wraith" Kuniko is a human female of asian descent. She stands at 5'7 ft with a slender and lean build. Her hair is shoulder length, with the color of light brunette, and she has striking blue eyes, along with fair skin. She appears normal on the surface, but she is chromed in a more subtle way, favoring synthetic limbs, with improved synthskin.

Clothing

She typically wears an elegant, high fashion cloak that conceals her black and red garbed attire. Though augmented by cyberware and genetic experimentation, her body appears normal on the surface.
