Summary

A newly established Yakuza family answering to the Wanibuchi-gumi directly, to scout the lay of the land in Seattle and see if they can get a piece of the international pie other rengos have going. Under the command of Chikara, the clan is relatively unique in its stance with regards to its operations and viewpoints among many other Yakuza clans. Particularly of note is their greater acceptance of Shadowrunners; Chikara recognizes that his small family lacks the manpower to handle all its affairs independently and the more lenient recruitment policy means the condescension many yakuza clans hold toward runners is not a factor.

Additionally, the clan is attempting to focus on rackets that do not harm the locals who live in its territory functioning more like a secondary 'policing' force than many clans do nowadays. Muggings, pickpocketing and the like are forbidden amongst the clan itself and actively discourages its presence among those outside the clan. This is both to hearken back to the traditional roots of the yakuza that many have 'lost', as well as promote greater acceptance of the locals to strengthen their hold via respect rather than terror.

Recruitment Policy

Under the founding oyabun, the Yoshinaga clan(as a New Way clan) values ability and loyalty before factors such as origin of birth or metatype. If you can contribute without violating the principles of the clan, you can earn a place. All things being equal, a pro-male, pro-japanese bias remains... but the aversion to metatypes, non-japanese or women are largely non-existent. Further, the Yoshinaga embrace the talents of the awakened or submerged, as such things only increase the capabilities of the clan...
