Summary
Infiltrating a fallen black site run by MCT. Between the mixed signals from how they got there, and the opposition to their real objective, this puts everyone into a tough spot.
Background
An MCT blacksite that had been producing cyborgs has gone down. A prototype ripped the place to shreds with the help of another jar unit. Now shadow spirits feast on the dispair, and the cyborg thrives in it's newfound freedom. The only thing that escapes the site is a single signal asking for help constantly, only picked up on the edges of the matrix. MCT can't stop it, so instead, they force the runners that come looking to help to work for them.
The Meet
The runners each receive a message through various means, a call for help originating from downtown. A large unoccupied building owned by multiple different people, reeking of some kind of front. A large antennae on the roof picks up a signal, and upon tuning it they are able to trace it to the location.
The mysterious individual (the assistant CCU), promises some paydata in exchange for their help in freeing them.
The Plan
The group's nothing much. Show up, scope the place out, never got much past that.
MCT's? Much more in depth. The party is scooped up as they enter the radius, and are given a run down. They will infiltrate the facility and reactivate the host, taking cameras on their chest since they will be entering a layered series of faraday cages. They're to enable it without destroying the prototype unit, thought the CCU is forfeit at this point, set to be dismantled regardless.
From here the party takes it step by step. Stealth in, avoid the slasher if possible, and get out. Though, they are prepared for combat if it comes to it. They're additionally given a door cracker, it's a little loud, but it will get them through the doors with a little matrix help on the side.
The Run
Entering the facility, they quickly realize how all of this is going to work as they crawl over beat up machines and the like. They make their way to the first door without issue, but hear movement from the floor below them as they quickly run to hide. They hear buck, but thinking quickly, Caliban activates the alarms on one of the busted convener belt systems as they run to the first of the 3 sub-basements. Buck and Saint trading duties on who will be carrying Caliban amongst all of this chaos.
- Basement 1: Machining Shop + Offices
Caliban and buck quickly scan the area. Caliban securing some marks on the different parts of the basement as Buck listens in and hears some of the water running that leads the group further inside. After a couple failed checks against the lock, footsteps can be heard as the slasher makes their way towards their location. Caliban quickly grabs a mark and spoofs a scream coming from a microphone that it had left behind. It goes to investigate, it's sadistic tenancies overruling any logical pathing. The group enters the room with the flowing water, and after some investigation they see that Buck won't quite fit through, and the group resolve to stand off against the creature.
It silently makes it's way towards them. In a quick series of barely missed attacks, and a data tap stuck to it's back. The slasher is fried as Caliban launches a massive data spike directly into it.
- Basement 2: Cyborg Chop Shop
The group checks the place quickly, finding a drone that is constantly broadcasting the signal they caught on the way in. They tell it they'll help, and head to the final basement.
- Basement 3: Vault
They face off against a group of shadow spirits that torment an exposed CCU. Though, one gets away as they save it from some cascading water encroaching up to it. They all keep their heads on a swivel, opting to help the cyborg so that it can get the infrastructure back online for them.
Though, as they're back in the machining shop getting the cyborg a temporary body, they're ambushed by the final spirit. Then, quick as it was, a few shots from Buck heralded Saint's explosion of force from across the room as she cleaved thing in half.
- Escape: RUNNNN
The group sticks the prototype they fried with some smoke grenades to Trojan horse MCT to capitalize on the building mana storm gathering in the area. They make a mad dash after knocking out some of the guards that were trying to escort them back to the tent. Boarding the car, they opt to instead make a pass around the storm instead of headed through it to avoid magical trailing. This results in two spirits that materialize in the back, and attempt to hit the truck with a lightning ball, which damages the truck, but noble defender allows for them to be mostly unscathed as the spirit's attempt to instantly bomb them fails miserably.
Aftermath
- The party sells the pay data for some cyborgs from MCT, starting off my metaplot I will be getting a page for eventually - An MCT black site explodes during a mana storm, effectively becoming completely unusable. - A cyborg named Tulip by Buck is now out and about inside of Seattle!

Game Quotes
Player After Action Reports (AARs)
Buck: "It ain't every day I get to walk into an MCT blacksite and sneak a cyborg out from under the noses of a bunch of corpo drekheads. Today was a pretty good not-every-day. Hope she enjoys her new freedom out there in the wide world."
Saint: "Fuck the corps. Glad we pried the boot off of someone... Actually, I've been curious about something. Need to ask that one nerd about whatever the Hell dissonance is, that Matrix drek."
