Character Information
Summary
Eli’s got a split approach to life.
Socially, he’s a warm grin and a quick quip, the kind of guy who’ll bum you a smoke or buy the first round just to see what stories you’ll tell. He isn’t a wild party animal, but he enjoys the occasional haze of a good drink, a light buzz, or something stronger if the company’s right.
On a run, the playfulness shuts off like a switch. Fisher King becomes deliberate, silent, and unflinching—a predator hidden just under the waterline, waiting for the ripples of the right moment.
Fisher King’s hacking style is long-game predation. He rarely brute-forces a system unless absolutely necessary. Instead, he’s the guy who quietly slips into a mark’s digital shadow, watches their habits, follows their commlink pings, and builds an invisible map of their vulnerabilities.
Weeks can go by before he acts—then, when the timing’s perfect, he strikes in a single decisive move: draining bank accounts, wiping debt records, or vanishing priceless paydata into his own heavily encrypted vault. By the time anyone notices, he’s long gone.
The name “Fisher King” came from other runners who noticed his method: wait patiently like a fisherman, strike like a king who never leaves scraps.
At this point in his life, he's made a silent vow to never steal from someone who can't afford it, unless they're the kind of person who absolutely deserves to be in financial shambles. He almost never thieves from people he considers "ordinary folk."

Hack, Steal, Profit!
Background
Eli “Fisher King” Marlowe grew up in the gray zone between comfort and corporate servitude. His parents weren’t rich, but they had steady mid-level wageslave jobs, enough to keep him in clean clothes, decent food, and an overpriced educational matrix subscription. While other kids played AR games, Eli was picking apart their code for fun, figuring out how to cheat, and then quietly selling those “mods” back to his classmates for chump change.
By the time he was in his early twenties, he had a solid job as a matrix security consultant for a mid-tier tech firm. But the pay was boring, the hours were boring, and—worst of all—the people were boring. He didn’t quit so much as… fade away. A month of “working from home” turned into a year of working entirely for himself.

Appearance
Male human with light skin, short, faded, brown hair, and green eyes. Short stubbled facial hair and no tattoos, scars, marks, or blemishes. Average build and height.
Clothing
Jacket – A dark olive, slightly textured leather jacket with a zip front and minimal stitching, giving it a clean, understated look. Thin armor kevlar has been sewn into the fabric to provide some protection.
Shirt – A plain dark charcoal crew-neck shirt beneath the jacket.
Blazer – A slim-cut, charcoal blazer worn under the leather jacket, adding a subtle layered sophistication.
Pants – Slim-fit charcoal trousers with a subtle weave texture, tailored enough to convey an upper-middle-class style without being flashy, matching the blazer’s tone.
Shoes – Dark brown leather derby shoes with a matte finish, clean lines, and minimal stitching, polished just enough to look professional but not ostentatious.
Matrix Persona
In the Matrix, Fisher King appears as a normal-sized, feral river otter—sleek brown fur, wet whiskers, intelligent dark eyes. He’s quick to dart in and out of hosts, leaving behind nothing but the faint ripple of his passing. Sometimes he’ll leave a virtual fish skeleton floating in a cracked host as a calling card.
