Background

Dry Bones was born SINless in Detroit to Martha Grace (Aware) and Josiah Cannon (Aspected), where Josiah studied with his minimal powers the Missionist Tradition while teaching his daughter what he could. He spent each day studying, learning, and going around the community healing the sick and wounded.

They lived a humble life, in a squat with about 4 other large families. One day an Ares garbed group set the building ablaze, using both magic and chemicals. Maryl Cannon and one other person who had dragged her out were the only survivors, the experience of the young woman scarred both physically and mentally.

She spent the next few years honing her magical talent and combat skills, hoping to make a new life somewhere far away where the grace of God could do the most work. She has settled on Seattle. She takes the name Dry Bones from the Old Testament Ezekiel 37, which was the passage her saviour read her each day while in recovery. While she does not believe every passage of the Bible is literal, or suited for modern morals, she deeply believes God is willing to give grace to anyone who pursues His love.
