Character Information
A decker combined with a face, he is a former Horizon Exec who's grown cautious enough to take precautions by never showing his face.
Summary
A Horizon Media Manager who eventually snapped and came to realize that social media was worthless.
Goals
- Make enough money to live comfortably.
- Be own Boss
- Not ever be forced to advertise himself on P2.0 ever again.
Background
Henry Jacobson was born on March 20th, 2043, in Los Angeles, California. Never going to college or technical school, he got his first break as a salesman selling solar to the sun-rich Southern Californians. After being 'salesman of the month' for several years, especially after Crash 2.0, he was one of the first employees of the newly formed Horizon corporation, getting in on the ground floor after Horizon made AAA status. He first joined Horizon's executive groups in 2068, at the tender age of 25.
What followed was five years of grueling work and fakery that slowly ground away at the original Henry Jacobson. Whereas before he was free to promote his product the way he and he alone wanted to, damn everyone else. Now, he had to take into account his co-workers. As such, Henry made project lead approximately 50 times, only to be demoted quickly as he took the reins.
In 2073, at age 30, Henry Jacobson was burning out fast as a media manager. He had been able to lead multiple projects, but had never been able to put his own fingerprints on the project before another was brought onboard. He slowly began to resent the constant intrusion into his life that P2.0 had become. Occasionally, he just wanted to kick back, relax, and not have the constant intrusion that working at Horizon had become. He still believed in the corporation, but he was becoming more reclusive. Even the Life Management Guide fiasco didn't completely dampen his enthusiasm. Sure, the Consensus had been blamed, but the Ex-Cons were the ones that took the Guide's advice and twisted it to do what they wanted, right?
It was the technomancer massacre that did finally snapped Henry Jacobson's loyalty for Horizon. Anger at P2.0, anger at the Consensus, anger at his coworkers who had given the option of just massacring all the technomancers. There was no blaming anyone else. His coworkers had helped precipitate that crisis, and he was indirectly compliant. Henry Jacobson handed in his resignation a month later and got his SIN revoked. He returned a week later, to 'clean out his desk.' All data, SIN or otherwise, on Henry Jacobson mysteriously disappeared from their database.
Truly SINless, Henry avoided social media, but didn't avoid the matrix. He'd manage to score a couple of gigs, but he slowly came to the conclusion that working in the Shadows was preferable to being poor and sleeping. He was also awash in a world of data, able to run his gigs the way he wanted, and make his own mark on the world.
Narrative Significant Qualities
Positives
Honest Face - He's a former marketing exec. You think he can't hide how he's feeling? Then again, he survived being unhappy at Horizon for as long as he did.
Alibi - Quick-witted and sharp, he's always thinking up excuses.
Watch the Suit - Appearances matter! Bishop knows that not looking good can cost a man his career.
Negatives
Alpha Junkie - Bishop is, as his name describes, not a pawn. He gives orders to the pawns, but input is always appreciated.
Social Appearance Anxiety - Bishop likes looking good. He enjoys it, and doesn't truck with not looking at his best at all times.
Faceless - All his time being behind marketing schemes has left Bishop a little hard to not pretend to be someone else. This only increased when he separated from Horizon, as his dislike of their media regime has made him want to become another person.

Appearance
While it's hard to get a fix on exactly what Bishop looks like, it's apparent that he is on the shorter and weedier side, though with a definite bulge around the midsection that comes from years of eating his own desk's candy. It is commonly accepted that his skin is likely fair, his hair ranges from either a light brown to platinum blonde, and his eyes are either blue or green.
Clothing
His clothes are always tailored. "Never underestimate what tailoring does to a man." Usually seen wearing a suit.
Matrix Persona
A blank-faced white-skinned (not pale, literally white) man wearing impeccably tailored 19th century tuxedo, complete with white tails. His marks are the chess piece he takes his name after.
