To hell with toxic mages and their gear. The run was simple because Ms. Target wasn't a big shot. Team 1 broke into the hotel and pulled the alarm, team 2 the mysad and I held up in an alleyway not far away and the job was over once the fire alarm was pulled. A guidance spirit I'm told suggested for her to walk right into my sights, and one EX-EX round to the solar-plexus was the end of her, and one round to the chest of her guard nearly put him down as well. One prompt in another voice to 'Go away and save himself' got the guard to walk away. Run over, cash gotten, fewer toxic shamans getting gear in the world. A win.

Summary

Straight forward wet-work job against a talismonger peddling toxic magic foci and artifacts.

Background

The Meet

Runners were called to a shack/shanty converted to look like some sort of castle tower or spire. Here they met the J, Sir Boris Aldrich Karl Von Altdorf of the Order of the Silver Torch. He was was a bit of an odd fellow dressed up as a knight in chainmail. However, the job he offered was a pretty straight forward assassination job. The target was one Cynthia Williams, a talismonger who had been dealing with the smuggling and peddling of toxic magic foci and artifacts. There was a bit of haggling over the price but the job was quickly agreed to by all the runners.

The Plan

The plan was pretty simple. Chipset was able to dig up regular haunts and residences of Cynthia via a matrix search, after which Shepard summoned a guidance spirit to use the search power to locate her exactly. She was found in a hotel she regularly stayed in. After which the group resolved to hack the fire alarm to get everyone to evacuate the hotel and force her to isolate herself, then eliminate her.

The Run

The plan went off without a hitch really. Ghost and Chipset physically infiltrated the hotel via the roof to get a direct connection to the hotel host, while Prince and Shepard set up in a nearby secluded alleyway. Shepard summoned another guidance spirit with the influence power, and Chipset set off the fire alarm. When Cynthia evacuated Shepard's Guidance spirit used it's influence power on her to make her flee to the nearby alleyway with her bodyguard in tow, where both Shepard and Prince were set up. As soon as she entered Prince eliminated her with his sniper rifle in one decisive shot. Shepard then shot the bodyguard nearly finishing him off with a single shot. This was enough to get him to give up and save his own life after a prompting from Prince.

Aftermath

Given how smoothly the plan went, and how quick it all happened, the team was able to get away cleanly before anyone really knew what happened. They then returned to Sir Boris' "castle" for payment. Job done.
