Summary

Mr. Johnson hired P23, Tango (the Mercenary), Count of Three the Sniper, and Sizzles the decker. They were sent by the Republican Party to bring the man that Hemmingway has tapped to be the Metroplex's Trade Representative to the Tir into the Tir to meet with a Prince on the Council.

The objective is to convince the Prince to openly back Hemmingway's bid for the Metroplex Governor, as the former Ambassador to the Seattle Metroplex, to give a powerful endorsement to her election bid.

Background

FitzHugh McAllister, the former Metroplex Trade Representative to the Tir, needs an armed escort to meet with the Council of Princes to secure an endorsement. FitzHugh is a good negotiator but not a real criminal genius and, outside of social situations, is a bit of a liability in the decision making department.

Hemmingway is gaining ground in the election and is thirsting for last minute endorsements to push her over the edge. The relationship between the Metroplex and the Tir is an important one, and a full-throated endorsement from the Tir for her election will resonate well. Especially in (some) the elven communities of the Metroplex!

The Meet

The party met with Mr. Johnson and, lacking a face, accepted the deal from the Republican operator and began their quest to escort FitzHugh to Portland. The mission was successful! The Prince they met agreed to endorse Hemmingway but only on the condition that FitzHugh and his crew party with him that night. The Prince is a known partier but a terrible labeller of his drugs: the group accidentally snorted a line of laes and woke up the next morning having lost the last few days of memory. The Prince accidentally crushed and snorted some Slab, and ended up knocked out and dead to the world (but not dead.)

Paz did not party with everyone. And is waiting as backup in the hotel room everyone booked together.

The Plan

When Tango, Sizzles, and the Count wake up in the hotel room they have lost memory of their mission completely. They discover FitzHugh in a room, though they don’t recognize him, and they find a sex worker and the Prince in the other. The sex worker is oblivious to the Prince being “dead” and leaves the room, while Sizzles (not having Medicine) incorrectly diagnoses him with a severe case of being unalive. The Count had the foresight to put some timers into his MathSPU before the party started: how long they’d been on the mission, how long it would be until it was safe to take more drugs, and when they expected the Prince’s security to arrive in the morning. They had forgotten, but they told Paz they’d come back down to their separate hotel room at daybreak and here they were, at 11:45 am, with security coming to check on the Prince at his noon wakeup request.

The Run

The team got the sex worker, Lady Julissa, to lead them back down to their hotel room. Paz, thinking they were a Tir hit team, hid in the bathroom with her full auto shotty. The team nearly brawled in a case of mistaken identities. Right about then the hotel went down into lockdown, the hotel door locking, red lights turning on.

The team rushed out with their newly reacquired equipment, went to the elevators. Sizzles started to hack the elevators while P23 tried to track down the location of the Tir Paladins who were en route. She tried conning them, shouting into the stairwell that “uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?”

The Paladins, not believing P23, left the stairwell. Sizzles and the crew raced down the elevators as they blew the lines one at a time but not before they got into the parking garage. Paz drove out, avoiding security gunfire in the rented Bulldog they had. Sizzles Hide the running silent icon for the vehicle. Coming out of the hotel on the Royal Hill, the Count spotted a sniper up in the hotel and alerted P23. They took evasive action and was able to avoid the tracking bullet.

They had to make covert arrangements to sneak through the border, now that their SINs were burnt. Once they got into Salish they arranged for a seaplane to cross into the Seattle Metroplex. They were diverted midair when there was a terrible airplane crash in Everett, barely making it through SeaTac security, before getting away home free.

Aftermath

The team suspects that the plane that crashed was their contact, and received a call from their contact’s assistant to come meet them at a hospital, setting up a new run possibility for all the players involved.

Sizzles: Decker's log: never let yesterday get in the way of tomorrow.

I've worked alongside folks I only just met before, but I've never met someone _after_ I worked with them before. SNAFU in the Tir meant I downed a line of Laes with a prince of the realm, which, whups. Escaping turned into a total clusterfuck, but we managed to pull it out. Tir Paladins are fraggin' madmen - they blew the elevators to try to catch us! Civilians coulda been in those elevators!

APPARENTLY I'm a known quantity on the Haven now - this elven dame P23 knew more about _me_ than I knew about _her_. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that. Not that it matters, I suppose. I'm gonna need remedial socialization with P23 and Tango to make up for what it. Hey, I'll say this though - these coastal forests are beautiful. The flight home was easy-flying and the views were positively recreational.

My man Count is _packing heat_.

Tango:Apparently my first run went well. Maybe someday I'll remember it. I do know that the party following the run didn't go so swell. I woke up in a bathtub with Sizzles yelling at me in a whisper. But bless his heart, he gave me a cup of tepid water and a bottle of Nerps! to go with it. At least I was dressed unlike the half nude Count. I wonder if he had genital enhancement done? The topless elf that came out of the Prince's bedroom was even more impressive. Oh yeah! Turns out the Prince isn't dead after all. Turns out that a line of Slab makes finding a pulse hard to find. Unfortunately waking up in a bathtub in a suite full of more drugs than I've ever seen with a seemingly dead Prince was the highpoint of the morning. There were a number of candidates for the low point but I have to go with the free fall elevator ride. Especially after P23 ripped the fragging doors open. I'm gonna sleep for a week. Sizzles says not to worry about my rep, it's ok to overdose on recreational drugs if you do it as part of the job.

P23: This is why I dislike elves. They pull shit like memory-wiping your team for a job well done. And that's when goings are good and everyone's in high spirits. Next thing we know, the guy we're working with is dead and our team is forced to get out of dodge with some very scary people behind us. Every gods damned time.
