Background

Born in Oakland, CFS, to a pair of Kazakhstani immigrants a week after they arrived, Zora grew up up quite poor near Jack London Square, but due to her father's job as a freelance drone repairman was able to get her hands on plenty of drones during her childhood. With her fascination with drones, along with hard work and the fact she had a SIN, she was able to get a scholarship from Ares to Stanford, where she eventually received a Masters degree in Drone Design. Settling in Oakland with her partner, she started working for a Ares owned start up company in Silicon Valley in the R&D department for several years, until General Saito rebelled and turned the Bay Area into his personal kingdom. Feeling desperate, she joined the Metahuman resistance in the East Bay, working with them as a combat rigger.

After the successful ouster of the General and his marines, Photon's mental state worsened, as both her parents and her partner had been killed in the fighting, and with her employer in ruins, turned to zen to try to alleviate her troubles. She eventually decided to put her life back together and use what she knew to get into the shadows, and with the Bay Area having too many bad memories, she headed north, to Seattle.

Photon's first couple months in the Emerald City were harder on her than she had prepared for, and she began to take shortcuts. She went lethal more and more, seeing it as a means to an end, not caring for the consequences or the lives she ended. Her idealism burned away, and she no longer trusted anyone above 140 cm, and trust is stretching it. The only light in the dark tunnel was the run for the District Attorney, despite reaping death on a level beyond even what she had become used to, she pinned the medal she received above her fireplace, in an attempt to at least try to convince herself that she could still fight the good fight, if only for a little while.

Appearance

Photon is a bit tall for a dwarf, and a little on the skinny side. She has shoulder length wavy black hair that frames a Eurasian face, accentuated by her purple cybereyes and nose ring. Her datajack is behind her ear, which she always keeps covered with hair out of embarrassment, and her cyber eyes, other than the color, are as realistic as she could afford. She carries herself jovially, with a constant smile on her face.

Clothing

She can usually be found wearing a worse for wear blue mechanics jumpsuit, with an armor jacket over it and a tank top under it, with work boots on the feet.
