Mr. Johnson agreed to pay the team 12,000 Nuyen to rescue her and bring her in alive, and less if she was dead, as long as they discovered why she was kidnapped. The team was prepared to negotiate for a higher reward, but he told them if they could skip the back and forth, he’d give them 2,000 Nuyen extra right away. They agreed.

At that point, the team was forced to go loud. Summary

Tasked with finding a missing reporter, the team searched far and wide before rescuing her from an aggressive paramilitary group. The mission was fully completed successfully!

Background

Ela Blanche Beaudin was kidnapped and Mr. Johnson wanted her located!

The Meet

The team met Mr. Johnson and received their mission to rescue the reporter, Ela Blanche Beaudin. She’s been missing and he suspects she was kidnapped. By who, he wasn’t sure. He gave the team a dossier on her and told them where to find her apartment.

The Plan

The team decided the best course of action would be to first investigate Ela Blanche Beaudin’s apartment for clues, and go then from there.

The Run

Investigating Ela Blanche Beaudin’s home revealed some interesting information. While Twitch Fox searched elsewhere in her apartment and Lanky guarded the doorway, Samael did some snooping on her computer. There, he found a digital photo of a picturesque home in a rather nice neighborhood on her desktop. After some skilled matrix searching on the device, he found an address for the house. He also found out that she was doing some digging on the local prostitutes, and the team made the guess that she was trying to help them in some way.

Next, Twitch Fox and Samael spoke with the nearby prostitutes while Lanky continued to cover their flank. The prostitutes gave the team a picture of a man with a scar across his face who seemed like he may be connected to Ela Blanche Beaudin’s disappearance. Lanky remembered some prior military knowledge of his and made the connection that he must be either former or current military, judging by his appearance.

Deciding the best course of action would be to investigate the house in the nice neighborhood, the group drove and rode their cars there and discovered the location was being staked out by several vans, with some type of paramilitary organization inside. They drove around the neighborhood but after being noticed and followed by the group, decided the best choice would be to leave the area and sneak back in on foot.

Under the cover of darkness and rain, the team sneaked to the house and found several more paramilitary personnel inside. Lanky took up a sniper position and Twitch hid in the nearby, destroyed ruins of a barn, while Samael made his way stealthfully into the house, proper. Samael looked into several of the rooms where he found a decker jacked into the matrix, ready to unleash the home’s weaponized defenses on anyone who would attack. So, he made the expert decision to knock the decker out with a pen full of tranquilizer.

At the same time, Lanky noticed a patrol was approaching dangerously close to their position, so he and Twitch Fox shot the pair of guards with less lethal ammunition. Lanky was smart enough to use a silencer, but Twitch Fox, who didn’t have a silencer for his assault rifle, and was out of range for shooting with his machine pistol, had no other choice but to fire a burst of bullets which echoed out blazingly loud throughout the neighborhood.

At that point, the team was forced to go loud. With a thunderous firefight, they knocked out most of the opposition with less lethal attacks, but a few of the guards left the team little option but to kill them. Once the smoke had cleared, Twitch had caught a round in the shoulder, but would likely make a full recovery. However, the team discovered Ela Blanche Beaudin in an adjoining room who had been struck with a couple of bullets and was dying fast. Using Samael’s Savior First Aid device, Twitch Fox stabilized her and Samael called in a drone to airlift her safely to the Mr. Johnson.

With their mission completed, the team quickly slinked through the shadows to leave the area before reinforcements could arrive.

Aftermath

With their mission completed to the full scope of the Mr. Johnson’s request, the team received their pay!
