Character Information

Summary

An IJS Oni living a quiet life in the more backwater parts of Hokkaido, Jin is operating in Seattle after Rei recommended the haven for long-term work.

Dedicated to a life of being a respectable and kind samurai, it puts her at odds with a good chunk of the shadows yet she refuses to sway from her path with the cruelty she has seen at the hands of the IJS and corporations.

Background

Born on White Day in 2053, Akahira Yuki was immediately adored by her two human parents, despite the rampant racism in the JIS. Her father was a banker, and her mother was a teacher. Her father would always proclaim that she was his favourite gift Yuki's mother ever gave him.

She attended public school - where judgment and othering wouldn't be present until she was 10. Attending archery practice throughout her time in school Yuki quickly found love for the sport and the history that came with it. As she grew, she found herself diving deeper and deeper into the historic legends of the Samurai - she was enraptured. Her parents saw this as a mixed blessing, however, as there would be no way for her to join any of the legendary security teams that boasted the title of Samurai. She was an Oni, no matter her heritage. But she persisted, and honed her skills to compete as far as she could.

And unlike most shadowrunners, she had a pretty happy homelife without tragedy! What did, however, drive her to shadows, was the pervasive greed and othering of the JIS. There was no room for an Oni in the puritanical state, even among the japanocorps. Her best bet would be to play a monster of the week on daytime trideo, and even that would be deeply upsetting.

So, she took to the life of a Ronin, and searches now not only for an estate to house her future master, but also for her master themself.
