Summary

Charon's attempt at snuffing a bastard who conned her backfired on her due to the greatest mistake she could possibly make: pissing off two black mages who have a very useful pawn at their disposal

Background

Charon, chud of the Black Lodge, has a problem. A particular bastard, Frost, has been skimping out on "certain items' she needed traded to her as a part of her business. Probably black lodge related, the runners were never going to pry that from a premier face without some serious leverage. That wasn't the important part here. The important part, for the vindictive cretin, was that this pissed her off.

Oh, and it was bad for business.

Trouble was, she was in need of finding out how the hell he was moving around. The vampire had a particular bar called the Red Chip Dungeon in Puyallup that he barely ever left, and Charon was struggling to figure out how exactly he was either a) moving, or b) sustaining himself in there forever. The local infected den wasn't a place her notorious face could get in without tipping off her quarry, so she needed a couple of expendable resources to get in there.

She landed on the worst crew she could for a bigot like herself.

The Meet

Tsarina (a keeb), Invictus (a leech), and Plug (a dumbass) were contacted by their fixers a day later. Tsarina tried to gather information early on this j with little to show for it, save knowing that Charon was going to be racist to her and that she should disguise herself and probably her ears too. The meet itself happened at 11pm at a nightclub in Bellvue, and it was...not quite productive as it was barely professional enough to function. Tsarina saw a challenge to her facing she wanted to tackle, Invictus thought she was being ludicrous, and Charon was being a right prick. Plug was being himself and could not say no to a woman because his gay ass needed to be straight about it. Multiple attempts to whittle down Charon's social defenses failed, and Tsarina could not negotiate past 10k for the job. This would be to find either the escape route he was using, get his commlink, or figuring out his method for exfil so she could pin him down and finish him herself. They were NOT to try and murk him themselves. She got the crew guest passes, and after multiple blatant acts of discrimination and Tsarina losing her shit at Plug being...himself, they made for the exit to get planning.

The Plan

Beyond just finding the place, checking outside first, and then using a plan of "infected bringing guests (one is a dumbass who thought being a dhampir was in vogue and wanted to use that as an in to an infected bar), legwork was fairly limited beyond background on the operations and limited access to info on the target himself.

What mattered was that privately, Tsarina and Invictus decided to fuck over Charon, sell her out to Frost by giving him a tip, and get a bonus because she was a bigot. Plug was not allowed this information because he would narc if a woman looked at him.

The Run

finding the entrance was simple enough: radar scanner revealed the hidden keycard reader on the diner floor above the establishment which kept it secreted away, and with a scan of guest passes they were inside. The dhampir schtick (and filing his own teeth) helped Plug sell his idiocy when Invictus played into it, and Tsarina was a good enough liar to play the nervous non infected bait.

Invictus chatted up the bartender and the team discovered the place had quite a number of bounty hunters about who made Frost jumpy, including one from Ares who actually interrogated Plug when he was framed. Sitting in a masking ward, he hid his ghoul status really well. A regular, it seemed. Plug was nervous about it, so the team started moving fast. Tsarina played cover for Invictus and Plug, being a panicking dame who could both sell the legitimacy of Invictus's info (by acting as if he were fucking them by giving it away) and being a convincing klutz who gave Plug an opening to get away from that Ares man and to the bathrooms to start crawling through the vents looking for that escape route. Meanwhile, Invictus did negotiations with Frost.

He got the guy to give the team a fairly healthy sum on top of their original pay for the tip and plan, and then got shown that the method was a Mist Form. Seeing that, that made it clear that if they follow the vents and look outside, they'd find a likely escape vector. Notably, Plug found a secret little faraday caged hole in the wall that was too thick to notice on radar scan, and then crawled out to meet the others.

As they exited, Tsarina and Invictus duped Plug into thinking they were going to respectfully stay out of the drop off. For Charon's sake, of course. Then fed him false info on what went down and how they learned everything. Plug's dupability came in handy for the schemers, as he wouldn't be lying if he was just wrong about things as he delivered them carefully.

Aftermath

The drop off went off fine enough. Charon was suspicious of course, but she wasn't going to find anything on the stooge, and the information was good, so she sent them drop offs. The black mages were rightfully paranoid about that and asked Plug to pick em up, which he did despite the irritation. They got him 2 rounds on them to compensate such a useful asset.
