Background
David Hawthorne captured the public eye in 2075 with his breakout novel The Last of the Wasichus, detailing the plight of the Anglo people in Sioux reservations. Received to critical acclaim, it sold out across the UCAS in a matter of days. The young author did the rounds of trideo talk shows, discussing his experience of living in one of the reservations while writing the book. Various policlubs have condemned or praised the novel since its release.
The release of Hawthorne's 2077 follow-up novel All the Wyrm's Men (a sensational novel based on the final days of Dunkelzahn's life) was critically lambasted but still turned out a global bestseller after various individuals took Horizon to court over their (alleged) depiction in it. The book's extensive footnotes based on tedious research by the author, along with it novelised form, led to the courts ruling in Horizon's favour.
Hawthorne's nex publication has already been teased across the airwaves: it's to be titled The Shadows She Ran. The public expects a gripping story featuring the darkest and most scandalous aspects of the Shadow Community. Unbeknownst to most and to the horror of his editor, Hawthorne continues his habit of deep submersion into the topic he's writing: using a few favors from corporate fans and patrons, he's managed to work himself into the shadows under the alias 'Walden'.
Narrative Significant Qualities
Positive qualities
- Fame (National): An author is perhaps not quite an A-level celebrity, but Walden's unlikely to go shopping without being recognised, and his public name is probably known across all of the UCAS. In circles where he might not want to be recognised he often carries a disguise.
- First Impression:
- College Education: Born and raised in Seattle, baby. Against popular advice, David followed an education in literature and history at the University of Seattle.
Negative Qualities
- Creature of Habit (High):
- SINNER: National (UCAS):
