Los Angelinos, once again, a knife has been stabbed directly into the heart of our city by the rich and powerful while those who claim to protect us stand aside and watch it happen.

A young man, Shawn Gaffney, whose family has already been publicly torn apart by shadowrunners last winter, has been abducted, directly under the nose of so-called law enforcement. The sponsorship of the megacorporations that rule our city is all that is required for these monsters to blithely trample on our hopes, our dreams, our very lives with nary a thought to the consequences for the rest of us. Indeed, it seems these twisted souls probably enjoy the irreparable harm they do every day.

This fiend behind me brazenly walked straight into notionally-protected academy, the Shining Bright School, with no apparent efforts to resist her by the resource officers or the police on the scene. Our investigations show that there had already been a security incident at the school that very day, with two KE patrol officers on the scene - yet not a single effort was made to halt the abduction.

Since then, Knight Errant public statements report that their investigation has "failed to turn up any leads". Viewers, did we expect anything else? Is the problem that those who wear the Knight Errant badge consider a petty bribe to be worth more than the lives of our children? Or is it that they are so apocalyptically incompetent that they can't manage to see a crime happening directly before their eyes? Either way, as long as their corporate masters continue to pull the strings on shadowrunners and our so-called protectors alike, we can be sure that none of us, even the most innocent, are safe. Until the day our city is purged of these criminals, so sure that they alone are free from the consequences of their actions, each and every one of us are in danger, every day, of losing someone precious to us at their whim.
