Background
Vigo Flamel and the Delta Green are official of governement working together to hunt Elder God Cultist and stop there work to achieve dark deeds.
Summary
The team is summoned by Delta Green to investigate on a black site location on the Appalachian where a breakdown was supposedly made
The Meet
The team met in downtown in office rented for the occasion, they are greeted by two agent of the FBI that Wychking recognize as being Delta Green members. The team is brougth to an obscured place to take seat around a table, several peoples are there looking at them but only Vigo talked and showed is face, those members of the board are here to monitor the operation and they are doubtful on the use of runners.
The team know that in pensylvannia near the Appalachian, Cultist seeming established a site with the support of local authority, recently there has been a ruckus after they exposed "a great discovery". The team is sent to investigate and extract the knowledge from the place and to bring a full report so Delta Green might take action. The team accept the job without negotiating too much and the team depart for Pennsylvania.
The Run
After a transportation to the place by a military transport (that help cross border and bring illegal gear) the team reach a little town nearby the supposed location of the site. After an investigation that lead them to encounter lesser dangerous Elder God Cultist (the one that are more in the Lovecraft aesthetics than world ending cultist) and some local recruiter of the Cult, the team manage to send Delphi and Kate to the cult as potential recruit. After convincing a recruiter of their capability and knowledge of the Forbidden Lore, they are invited to go to the Site, they get a rendez vous for the next day.
At the rendez vous, an unmarked van show up, the two runners are brougth to the site while the rest of the team follow from safe distance, while the infiltration of the recruit goes on the rest of the team scout the surrounding of the Site to get the security details. Inside though the Kate and Delphi are lead to meet the local Cult Leader during the visit of the complex, they see an huge astral gateway that lead to a place that give really bad vibes even through the portal.
After the visit the duo are tasked to negotiate with Doctor Romanov a magical expert that has extensive knowledge of forbidden lore, he is reluctant to help the cult but he is too valuable to be killed. Kate and Delphi manage to convince him to help them to gather information about the place, the Doctor mention that the gateway lead to a fragment of the past in the sense that the metaplane saw really old event maybe some of the 4th world itself or the Scourge. There is no proof to this theory as far as no one did go inside the portal, that's the only thing that was done on the behalf of the Doctor, the only caution the Cultist seemed to have had.
A plan is then quickly put together, Kate volounteer to take a stroll through the place to confirm or infirm the theory, then the three escape with the support of the outside team. Kate does indeed go into the metaplane, who end up being a dark deserted world, the soil is made of ash, dust and grey sand sometimes there is rock and she can see mountain in the distance. Weirdly enough her mana compass manage to pick a signature and she follow it for hours and hours, finally in the distance she see some kind of castle. The place is empty and the only thing she end up finding is a book, despite the bad feeling that irradiate from it, she decide to pick it up and soon she feel that something awakened in the place. Soon she is attacked by black silhouette kinda human in shape, black tar like skin, white glowing eyes and sharp teeth. Nearly dying in the ambush Kate quickly rush out of the castle and get back to the portal.
As soon as she is back and debrief, Kate, Delphi and the Doctor get to the last's office to work on the book (officially). Outside Red make is infiltration supported by Nu11st@ck and manage to easily reach the team thank to some really clever use of their ability, while the job could have been executed flawlessly, Red slipped while crossing the wall of the outside wall, causing a ruckus and leading to Nu11st@ck having to take a long shot to save the stealth run !
Aftermath
The team quickly leaved the surrounding of the site and get back to the airport where the Delta Green personnel take them back to Seattle. After a debrief, Doctor Romanov join their rank and the book is handed over to them though Wychking made a copy of it. The language of the book is undefinable by this time probably a mix of really old language or even the origin of some old language.
The team is payed but they are left with many question about this place, some rather forget about it. Other are digging in those knowledge, how deep are they going to dig in this place, is there answer in this place...Or is this another mirage ?
